I would say legg is a better guard than johnston...IMO....

agree and Malone did an outstanding job on him.

Southworth would be the best.... He can guard the post and the guard position.

Yes, Legg is much better than Johnston.

Debate who you think is better, Legg or Johnston, Waverly won the game that involved the teams. I'd say Johnston did pretty well that game, as he did against Chesapeake, Valley, & Burg, all big wins for the Tigers.

After watching Legg a few times this yr I probably wouldnt call him a point guard more of a 2 guard, point guard is exactly what Johnston is though and I would say he is the best point guard in southern ohio we will see when we match up against Oak Hill.
Waverly has played great defense this yr and I dont believe i would leave any of them out. Coach Robertson and staff have them playing extremely hard on the defensive end. Keep up the great work Tigers defense wins championships.

I dont know about that, there are a number of players that could claim to be at that position. Legg(who is a point)from Piketon, Ondera from Oak Hill, Seaman from Peebles, Knabb from Eastern Brown, Bendolph from the Burg, etc. it is hard to say one is better than the other.

Speaking of 30 years, this is the 30th anniversary of the Regional Championship game between Waverly and Portsmouth (1980). Waverly has not been back there since. 1 point away from the final 4. I hear talk of trying to get all the players back at one of our home games this year. That would be cool! The 2010 version of the Waverly Tigers have the potential to make the same kind of tournament run. The 1980 squad finished the tough regular season (SEOAL) at 12-8 before making their awesome tourny run which including knocking off more than one highly ranked oppponent.

BACK TO THE TOPIC:
Roback & Remy have to be at the top of the Waverly defense, Remy because of his steals. Malone is a defensive animal and Johnston is playing pretty good D as well. Waverly is 6-1 right now mainly because of their DEFENSE. They shut down key players for Chesapeake, Valley, Burg, & Piketon (4 very good wins).

If anyone wants to commission a documentary about it, let me know.

Johnston is stronger, faster, & better with the ball than Legg. Is Legg a really good guard, no doubt about it. But Sam is untrappable, & gets the ball to his teamates better than any of the other point guards I've seen (Legg, Bendolph, Blake, & Yates). Legg probably should be playing the shooting guard position, cause he looks more to penitrate & pull up with that mid-range jumper.... IMO...

a few from the shl include seaman stephens peebles, knabb and little from eastern brown, hanson from manchester, gunther and gambil from fayettville. as for the soc i go with yates from valley, slone ondera and hale from oak hill, the pg from green(sorry dont know his name for sure), roubek kraetzer and martin from waverly, kenny crabtree from nw, im sure there are others because i havent got to watch the other teams play but from what ive seen so far these select few really sit down and get after it on the defensive end.

Cody Wilkett from Wellston has shut down most top scorers they have played. He is a very good lock down defender,
