can see all: Waverly definitaly lost the turnover battle and shot 9 of 20 from the line. That with Martin being injured is what cost them the game. You obviously werent at the game because I have seen 1 bad official but not a group as bad as tonight, maybe ever. Fans from both sides were going nuts and yelling at officials the entire game so its not only Waverly fans.

And you obviously misread my post. I said to quit blaming the officials. I did not state whether or not I thought they were good or bad refs, simply saying do not blame the officials. And you helped validate my point by saying that the game was called equally as bad on both ends (by saying both sides yelling, and that its not only Waverly fans). So you should take a look at my post and see that all I said was don't blame the officials for a loss.

A win's a win...doesn't matter if the refs were terrible or if a key player for Waverly was injured. 3 weeks from now at tourney seeding draw, nobody will remember all that. They'll just see a win over a tough D2 team at Waverly for Webster.*

I did not see anyone blame the officials for the Waverly loss. As stated, they were terrible both ways. Both teams and fans were yelling at them, especially in the 2nd half. It seems when Greg Abbott went down with that nasty ankle injury the rest of the crew lost it.

The Tigers were totally out of sync without Martin. That does not explain the terrible FT shooting and low FG %. Waverly hit 1 three and that was by Johnston in the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 3. South Webster hit 5. That's a 15 to 3 edge.

Waverly was 11 for 20 from the line while South Webster was 12 for 17, hitting 11 in the 4th. As stated earlier all of their points in the 4th quarter were at the line. South Webster made no FG's in the 4th. Waverly cannot keep shooting around 50% from the line and expect to win close games.

Waverly does not have long to think about this one. The Tigers have to pull it together quick as they travel to the Portsmouth West tonight. They better be ready for a football game because it will be rough.

can see all, you said complaining about officiating, which EVERYONE was doing. From the head coaches to the water boy, and every single fan on both sides of the gym. I haven't spoke to anyone blaming the officials for the loss or crediting them for the win. They were just flat out bad, all 3 officials for all 4 quarters on both ends of the court. I explained to you why the Tigers lost the game. Webster impressed me they are a good lookin team, they have a lot of shooters and they play hard. Hope Mr. Abbott has a speedy recovery, and it's nothing to serious.

Wins over Portsmouth, Wheelersburg, Northwest, and now Waverly.......the Jeeps are having a tremendous season to this point.......I said before the game that SW is a legitimate regional team in D4.

Haha, Alright. I really don't have anything else to say except you are missing the point. I know both sides were complaining, which is a good thing meaning it was a fairly officiated game. I'm saying if South Webster would have lost, we could not have blamed the officials since it was called horribly both ways.

Again good job South Webster, an amazing turn around from the past two years.

Well I don't mean to nag after a big win, but If you can say the game was called as equally as bad on both sides.... The JV ref who came in was the only one out there worth his salt after Abbott went down.

How bout Connor Scott. game high 20 points, knocks down 2 big threes in the beginning , then nails the free throws to seal it in the end. The best point guard I have seen so far this year in Websters games. He needs to shoot it when he gets the chance.

Congrat to Webster on going to Waverly and picking up the w last night. I have been reading posts from Waverly all year and the free throw shooting has been a problem in several games. If Harrison Martin did not play last night, I am not sure the outcome would have been different but I can say without reservation he is the glue of that team IMO. I really enjoy watching that young man play sports.
