Oak Hill @ Burg 1-19-10

Post by therepublican »

Thoughts...???? This game should be interesting...if Burg doesn't show up, could get ugly soon I think. Burg needs to shoot the ball well and Stegman will need to have a great game.

If Burg can play D like they did against Minford and eliminate the turnovers this game could come down to the final seconds.. Im taking Burg by 2..

Should be a good game. I've only see Burg play against Portsmouth. Burg is a good team.

Burg has to make the outside shot against the tight 2-3 zone that the Oaks will be in, then maybe Stegman will get some good looks inside. Also they need to bring the same defensive effort that they brought to the Minford game and sustain it for 4 quarters. If they can do that, I'll take Burg in close one.

If the officials let this one be played very physical, Oaks by 15.

If Burg's guards knock down some shots to help Stegman, then it could be close.

Good luck to both teams.

The highlight of this one will be watching Norm and Barrick..it should be a hoot!

Barrick finally put in a point guard and Burg improved dramatically. Oaks still too much for Burg. Oaks by 10.

I have watched the Burg all year and I hate to say I think the Oaks will be too much for the Burg to handle. Burg is struggling to find outside shooting..not sure why because there are some shooters on the bench that could deliver...but can't. Stegman will have 15 or more..Burg did bring up a true point guard in Mcbee, but I think Ondera will be too much. Go Burg, hope to see a good coaching show as well!!! lol...inside humor for whoever has watched Norm and barrick on the sidelines! The only way Burg can swing this one is dominate the defensive side of the ball and cause a lot of turnovers!

End of 1st quarter

Oak Hill 13
Burg 6

Stegman with 2 fouls in ist quarter. Probably won't see much of him the rest of the half. That hurts the Pirates. Someone has to step up if they want to win this one.

Oaks up 18-8 now. Burg can't buy a basket. They're getting open looks, they just can't knock them down. TO Burg.

Halftime

Oak Hill 23
Burg 8

Burg only scored 2 points in the 2nd quarter with Stegman never seeing the floor. Great defense to hold the Oaks to only 23 points, but someone has to step it up a notch and score for the Pirates.
