Ron will definitely turn the CHILLY program around.Graduated with his brother Tim and he's the same way [''DEDICATED AND CARES ABOUT THE KIDS AND NOT THEMSELVES'']...When out boating at lake down near Chillicothe this past summer[Here's comes Ron with a boat load of his football players.] Wouldn't believe the lunch spread he had for them[''Everyone that knows Ron knows he likes to eat'' lol.]Ron will have the Cavs up and running in no time and with Mr Arnedt running the defense..Talked to Timmy at our 30th[damm I'm old] and ask him then if he was coming back when Ron retired. With his girls in college and the pay difference, even though he luved to come back to Amanda [can't at this time--maybe later''HOPE''.] Tim was a good wishbone QB and our point guard on the BB team, and was a good friend.Wish-- him well as I told him at are reunion. This kids will have a strong running game and can guarantee ya[if line don't block they won't play.] But above all Ron really cares and is why he is so respected all over the Buckeye State. Haven't seen Tom in awhile but hopes he joins the group too,he was a heckuva a catcher in his day[Tom is the middle brother.] Getting sumtimers and somebody can correct me if wrong, the 3rd of 5 boys...GOOD LUCK RON.....have fun with the Grandkids, they growup fast. :) :!: bird78

When you guys talk about turning Chilly around, do you mean winning 5 or 6 games a season consistently ? Because that's what your looking at. The problem at Chilly hasn't been the X's and O's. The first thing Ron will do is get the " Nut " off the schedule. He couldn't beat them when he was at Amanda. He never beat Portsmouth either. Zanesville, Ironton, and Logan will consistently out Coach him also. He had a one man team last year, and that man broke his leg week ten, had that happened week two, 4 out of the Aces last 5 years would've been losing seasons. He was stale at Amanda, and he dried up the " Creek " long ago. As for as leaving the " Amanda Program " in great shape, that's an illusion. He left them boys with Kory Black at the helm. Ross County people know what that means. He also had Seniors playing J.V. games, and Sophs, and Jrs. playing Freshman games. Then bragged about their winning records. Take it for what it is, a popularity move.

AceRacer........stating you could have as successful a year as the Aces had with a "one man team" disqualifies you as an intelligent poster. It definitly hurt their team to lose him, but without some help a back cannot have huge numbers.

Are you an idiot??? They have won "5 or 6" games every year except 2 for the last 8 years. I think people mean winning 7,8, or 9. Also, it is impossible to win with a one man team in football. This isn't basketball. You need AT LEAST 15 good players to win.

He couldn't beat Big Nut or Portsmouth when he was at a D5 school??? Man that is terrible. I'm sure you would beat OU if you coached at Youngstown State huh??? You would have beaten the Nut and Portsmouth with his talent against their talent??? Is that what you're trying to say? Zanesville and Ironton are leaving the league and I doubt either will keep us so that is not even a possibility. Logan is getting a first time head coach so I doubt that happens either. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but please don't bother us with yours because we all got dumber from reading that.

You folks are as quick as two turtles playing soccer. Datch, I hope Chilly high doesn't claim you as a grad, because with grammar like that I'm not sure how much farther you can fall on the DNA gene pool list.

As far as Amanda being a one team last year, I literally saw the kid snap to himself, roll right, break five tackles, score, then decide to go for two, but Kory Black wouldn't let him, Coach wanted to see him long snap.

Ace: Getting back to your original post, it seems to me that you are just an A-C fan(or player) who is mad because your coach left for a different opportunity closer to his home. All coaches move on and need new challenges, atmospheres, etc. A-C is a great program mostly because of his, and others', hard work. Don't come and bring down someone because of sour grapes. Be greatful for what he has done for your program and wish him and his new school well as I'm sure he is wishing A-C well.

Arndt from reynoldsburg and Bobby Kennedy from Chillicothe. I heard he got rid of the "keep back coaches" on the sidelines. I hope this is true. Metzler went to Unioto. What a loss for Chillicothe. He was a great coach. I heard he was treated like a 2nd class citizen in the interviews. They acted like they were going thru the motions. That's too bad because he was one of the best defensive coaches they ever had.

Coach Hinton didn't turn ACC into a state champion over night. I think the fans need to be more patient than they may be.

it took a while for the right players to start coming out for the program--then they went by the play book

He is going to need numbers to start showing up. Chillicothe has been down for different reasons. I think he is looking at a couple of rough years.

They still don't have a quaterback for next year and I'm not sure about whats waiting in the wings.

Anyone have a feel for next year? I know kids are turning out to weightlifting and they have some speed. They need Oates running the ball not qb. Good group of kids but short too many positions.

The new coach is bringing a reputation and many past successes, that should bring out kids who have not played in past years.

Numbers are low in grades 10 - 12 NO LINEMEN They are hurting there big time Coach Kennedy is out but Carl Justice is back Funny they wouldn't let Coach D hire him last year but he is back now. Seems to move around alot. Coaches Crabtree and Brasovich are also returning Anything more than 4 wins will be a very good season

Depends on if he can get the numbers up and if the staff can deal with the different personalities. Chillicothe definitely has different demographics than Amanda.

I look for some improvement this season. 5-5 would be a good first season.

I hear from a reliable source that Chillicothe is opening the purse strings for the football program.

Pappy: What do you mean, "opening the purse strings?"....I must be too young or just out of the loop because I have no ida what that means??????

I have heard from a few sources that he is taking the entire month of July off. I know the man has won multiple state titles and I will not criticize anything he does but I will say that this makes absolutely no sense to me. How is taking an entire month off from lifting going to benefit the team. A month off from seven on sevens or camps to let everyone clear their mind of football would be justifiable IMO but not lifting for a month doesn't make sense. I also have talked to a few close to the program that are not fans of the off-season lifting and conditioning program.
