The poll isn't updated constantly; it's released on certain days.

I personally think it is ridiculous that Cols Grandview Heights is ranked as high as they are in D-3. They already have 2 losses and earlier this year only beat SHL bottom feeder West Union by 2. Peebles is undefeated and beat West Union by 40 and we couldnt crack the top 20? I suppose it is due to the lack of media coverage in our area like Jchitwood has said on other threads?

Previous year tournament success has a lot to do with putting you on someone's radar, too.

Does anyone submit scores to Cincinnati media regularly? Would that even help? Seems if the Cincy paper and the TV stations were given the info to report, regularly, it might help. Just a thought that I'm sure someone else has already thought of and probably pursued.....

Nobody exists below I 70. Unless there is a previous year's reputation, SE Ohio will never get any respect

Like Sparky said on another thread, poll would be important if there were a BCS system for boys high school basketball. Peebles is a great team and will undoubtedly get better as the year progresses. Their tournament run will speak for itself, not whether they are in a poll or not.

A very good point but I just cant believe that a teams success in the past would influence the here and now. Back in the glory days(60's-80's) of Peebles basketball the Indians were always able to get some respect in the polls, even though they never managed a state tourny run.

Tribe you're definitely right...I just think the sports writers and media in general forget that the Southeast district has some pretty good basketball down here. You have Ironton who made it to the state championship game and lost to North College Hill in the 2006 season, South Webster who won a state title in 2006, Oak Hill who won a state title last year, Western Latham who was a buzzer beater away from making it to the state a few years back...the Southeast district has been represented well. I know I probably forgot some teams in here but that may be amnesia kicking in, lol! Anyways, Peebles is a great team and they will find out exactly where they are this Saturday when they take on South Point. I'm not an expert so I won't even try to predict a score like some of the pundits on here, but it should definitely be a good one. Peebles is a tough place to play.

The polls don't make sense, for instance after losing to a 1Win North Adams team (I know, better than their record) #10 Racine Southern d-4, this week was still mentioned below the top 10 at I believe #15.

^^^^^I wouldnt worry about polls! lol Cleveland Central Catholic returns nearly everyone off of that D III championship team last year. They are currently 3-7, with losses to D I St. Eds, D I St. Iggys, D II ASVSM, D III VASJ and some other very good D I and D II teams. Something tells me unless they are cold one game, your going to see them in at least the Regionals! lol
