Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
I assume coaches do what they feel is best. Osborne and Jordan have been around coaching forever. Jordan didn't start or play one of our 18 ppg players much the first 3 games....I guess to get him to up his defense a bit.....agree or not, it seems to have worked.
Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
This should be a real good game. Gallipolis has been playing much better ball where Jackson hasn't been playing as strong.Gallia just might take this one.

Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
In SEOAL play, from 1925-26 to 2008-09, Gallipolis leads Jackson in the series with 100 wins against 49 defeats. The two schools split last year, Jackson won at home then GAHS beat Jackson in the final boys varsity game in the old GAHS gym in February.
Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
Gallipolis wins 45-37
Hats off to the Blue Devils....they executed better, hit their ft and earned a good win. Congrats.

Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
Wow basketball is a game of match ups. Athens loses to Jackson by 26 and then beats Gallipolis by 25, reels off 9 in a row to be sitting at 10 - 1. And then Jackson loses to Gallipolis. Hmmm going to be interesting going down the stretch as it get closer to tourny time.

Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
I know Larry the Legend has the legacy but that was one of his worst coaching games that I have seen at Jackson. His subs, they way the kids took bad shot after bad shot and nothing no timeout or change of personal... Just wonder how much his heart is in it anymore..... Lets CPR run out in the middle of the season has to miss 2 games and one kid misses practice and only sits out 4 mins to start the game what message is that sending???
One thing he has on his side I am sure he is been there and done that hopefully he can right the ship and get the kids ready for the tourney!!! (frustrated a game they should have won)

Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
I think he was overdue on his pupil validation certicifate and with that you must also take "Fundamentals of Coaching through the OHSAA"....which is a solid 10 hrs of work
Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
Jackson has not played well since they had seven straight days of no practice, they are not even close to the same team. Many Ohio coaches do not have their pupil activity card renewed and it is not a state law that coaches can not be around kids without it, just Jackson
Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
Please somebody correct me if i am wrong, but i do believe it is a new requirement for the Ohio Department of Education. In the past, school districts could withhold pay, but i believe now they are really cracking down.
Re: Gallipolis at Jackson (1-19)
Spartan you are correct. It is a requirement of ODE. So I guess according to slick it is okay to not follow the rules. Would not want to be the administrator in charge when some kid gets hurt bad and you can't produce a pupil activity supervisor certificate! Bottom line is it is a requirement and he didn't do it so he should have had to sit until he completed the requirement. 500 plus wins does not exempt you from meeting those requirements.
