seoal 2011-12

Jackson wins it all by a landslide. No one even comes close to the ironladies.

Both Logan and Chilli will be to young this year to make much noise. We can only hope that chilli has a better year than last.

Jackson rolls with nearly everyone returning. I see a possible distict championship for the Ironladies this year. Jackson needs to do whatever they have to do to keep Coach Allen on the sideline.

Logans young one play bball 10 months a year, usually against teams a year or 2 older, so they should be able to step in and contribute if politics don't get in the way. Chilli's young ones only play a few gba type tournaments against their age group, the pace of the varsity game will take a while for them to adjust. And chilli lost 2 of the key kids from the very strong freshmen class. Very low numbers will hurt chilli again.will start the season with about 12 to 14 kids at the high school level.

I know Oak Hill is in the SOC but how do you think Oak Hill and Jackson would match up against each other?

No reply, One of them moved to columbus and one of them moved to virginia. JayBruce, Not sure what the outcome of that matchup would be, but it would be a fun one to watch. I'm not sure who all is back for oakhill, didnt follow them much, but I know they did great at tournament time.

Logan -you might say has three starters back--might have to find some ball handlers

Jackson will be tough; Logan has good basics but still young; Chilli has some older players, but young players who may or maynot do well with the quicker pace; Portsmouth hot and cold, who knows; Warren and Gallia be ok.

This will indeed be Portsmouth best year in the SEOAL with returning players and they got a transfer All SOC 1 first team player from Green Gidget Timberman looking for a great season from the Trojans !

Chilli will be lucky to get between 5 to 8 wins. But that is still an improvement over last year. Low numbers and poor work ethic will keep the chilli program struggling.

Basketball season is just around the bend: Looking at the SEOL the prohibitive favorite should be Jackson. Good coach with a strong returning team which could have won the league last year but for a few great shots ending close games with Marietta and Logan. With Marietta out of the mix Logan and Warren will be vying for some time at the top of league. Portsmouth IMO was the most improved team at the end of last year and will be a factor in the league. Chilli and Gallia are suspect but need to wait and see.
Logan will have some baseline size and experience in the front court. There will be some quality help coming up from last years JV. Finding player/players able to get the ball into the front court will be the challenge early in the year. IMO developing a game plan to handle pressure will be a priority. Logan has a good coaching staff with tons of experience.
