Wheelersburg Pirates 2010 season
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2010 season
There are good things coming out of Burg's camp. Players are stepping up to positions thay have not played before for the better of the team to ensure the best 11 is out there. Ironton better be prepared for a battle it will come down to turnovers and mistakes to determine this winner.
Pirates are better than what people think regardless of the speed that was lost last year. Shears is just as good as Lang on Offense, Lang will be missed on D for sure.
Shank ran 7 times for 93yds in Piketon scrimmage.
If the D can hang tight in ball games they have a chance to win all 10. I know people will post if you shut down shank you win but that is easier said than done.

I see a lot of scoring for Burg this season, But I also see a lot points given up. So they're just gonna have to outlast a few teams this year!wobycat wrote:

Woby, I hope your right. Only thing is, I listened to you and RW last season, and had high hopes for a win in Ironton.wobycat wrote:There are good things coming out of Burg's camp. Just hope your right this season. For a close game that is.

I agree, There D looks suspect. It might be to 10 new starters on D, 9 of which never played D, last year!Neutron Man wrote:I see a lot of scoring for Burg this season, But I also see a lot points given up. So they're just gonna have to outlast a few teams this year!wobycat wrote:

Last year kids were doing there own thing, no chemistry, too many individualist. I'm not saying they will win but they will be in it to the wire and could come out with a shocker.

Not a shocker as big as last time at Ed Miller.
If the Burg wins, it will be by a TD and not in the last seconds like last home game.

Not at all. The Cheiftons haunting your dreams yet?
Oh, that's right. You guys got out of the conference so you don't have to play them anymore.

Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2010 season
Anyone know the series record between these teams? I think it is the best way to open the high school football season. Ironton and their storied tradition, and Wheelersburg always putting out a tough team year after year. This game never seems to disappoint.
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2010 season
I believe 10 to 5 in favor of I-TOWN since the renewal of the series in 1994. 2001,2002and 2009 were blowouts by I-Town
2007 blowout by burg.
Most of them are close with I-town pulling out in the end except schank's last td in the closing seconds when he was a soph.

i'm not real sure if i'd call 24-9 in 02 and 24-8 in 09 a blowout.
also the last second td was caught by stegman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWJF8L5O3HE

Whoaa, that's pretty good, never realized how funny you wheelersburg boys really are. I have seen so much Ironton hate on here so I would just like to ask ya...."does it hurt that much?" No matter what you accomplish, you are still NOT us! You can walk around with our colors on and pretend but truth is ya gotta wake up every day and see that W not I my friend. This nonsense started in 89 with you guys thinking you could compete so it was a lot of talk back then from the Pirate faithfull about how they would have like to have matched the 89 teams up....LOL...are you kidding? Also by and large even with games ending closely Ironton DOMINATES this series. Just the cold hard fact! Also last I checked we dominated the series with Logan as well...LOL! matter of fact even with us losing last year Logan had their hands full with us! It is easy to talk when you are in that lil mini conference huh Pirate fans? Matter of fact what is your record against Portsmouth even? You douche bags should not even be glorified with the tag of an Ohio school, last I checked ya looked like a glorified Kentucky team. LMAO!
Speaking of that I believe Ashland is more competitive against us then you guys...
Ironton 30 Wheelersburg 7 .....Remember last year when Stank...umm I mean Shank got dominated by that BIG PHYSICAL FAST TIGER D? Hell Yes you do!!!!!! :122249 Told ya genius...THE TIGERTOWN SWAGGER IS BACK! Everybody on here spews so much hate on us and it has went on and on and on forever....NO MORE!

For someone who just joined yesterday, you must have been chewin on this for years. Hopefully you will be called back to work
