Actually, Eastern has to win three more games to secure a share of the title. The Eagles still have to play Clay, Symmes Valley, New Boston, East, and Green. Go Eagles!!!

Re: 02-02-10 Eastern @Clay
yes but they are maybe 3 games up on the next team and I don't see any of them running the table until the end. Obviously they want to win out but it's not going to ruin it if they drop a game or two. I'm not an Eagle so I could care less but they would have to completely lay down to lose the title at this point. They should win no less than 3 of those five remaining games and finish at least 2 or three games ahead.
Re: 02-02-10 Eastern @Clay
I agree with you. It's not likely that Eastern will lose the title, but Green only has two losses in the SOC. I was just pointing out that Eastern needs to win at least three more games, instead of one, to share the title.

This is a big game for the Eagles. I did not realize that Green only had 2 losses in the SOC1 with their win over Western so they have a shot at the title also. If the Eagles want the title to themselves, they better bring it this game with games at Symmes Valley, Green, and New Boston (anything can happen in the cracker box) remaining.
The title is there for the taking Eagles! Bring the effort like you wanta be CHAMPS!
Good luck

Here are some possibilities and outcomes to keep the conversation stirred up. Warning: Lengthy post as a result of boredom and rainy weather!
Information from the The_X_Factor thread:
Current SOC I Standings as of 01 FEB
Eastern................11-2......9-0
Clay.......................6-8......6-4
Green....................8-4......7-2
Symmes Valley......7-5......5-3
Western................3-11....3-7
New Boston..........3-9......1-8
Notre Dame..........3-6......2-5
East.......................3-9......1-6
Remaining games and possible outcomes that could tighten the SOC I race considerably. There are too many games remaining to count anyone out yet, especially Green & Symmes Valley, but if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise....The Eagles will continue their winning ways and soar gracefully to the league title.
February 2
Eastern at Clay (Eastern 10-0 or 9-1 / Clay 7-4 or 6-5)
Symmes Valley at Green (SV 6-3 or 5-4 / Green 8-2 or 7-3)
February 5
Eastern at Symmes Valley (Eastern 11-0, 10-1 or 9-2 / SV 7-3, 6-4 or 5-5)
Green at Notre Dame (Green 9-2, 8-3 or 7-4)
Clay at East (Clay 8-4, 7-5 or 6-6)
February 12
Symmes Valley at New Boston (SV 8-3, 7-4, 6-5 or 5-6)
Green at Clay (Clay 9-4, 8-5, 7-6 or 6-7 / Green 10-2, 9-3, 8-4 or 7-5)
East at Eastern (Eastern 12-0, 11-1, 10-2 or 9-3)
The perfect storm, some good or bad luck, some missed free throws and a complete melt down of Eastern…….. Could realistically (hopefully not) have the league race in a three way tie (three teams with 3 losses) after the dust settles on FEB 12th. It could also have Green and Eastern knotted up at 10-2, setting up the final game at Green as the Championship game........ "IF" Green gets past Symmes Valley on the 17th of February.
I realize that there are several "what if" and "could be" scenarios, but that was my intent behind this post. Crazy things can happen and if a team gets hot or goes cold........ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!
February 17
Green at Symmes Valley -- MAKE UP FROM JAN. 8
(This game could play a role in deciding the championship if Eastern lets a few games slip through their talons.)
February 19
Eastern at Green
Symmes Valley at Western
Clay at Notre Dame
Waterdog,
Thank you very much for the kind words. To answer your question, I think that it would be a pretty close match up between the Eagle and Panther. However, Justin McBee sent me this picture that was taken near the A-Plant. It clearly displays that the squirrel is no longer a helpless creature of prey and appears to be developing survival skills that may tip the scales in the favor of the Panther. LOL

It's game day ladies and gentlemen!
I am sticking to my original guess on this and hope that Coach Fitch has the Eagles ready to play. This should be a Slobber Knocker!

Good Luck Eagles!

Hoggy,
Western is actually 3-6 in the SOC not the 3-7 that X-Factor has listed. It keeps the league order the same just changes Westerns loses.
League Wins: New Boston, Clay, Clay
Loses: Eastern, Eastern, Symmes, Green, Green, Notre Dame

Re: 02-02-10 Eastern @Clay
Hoggy, good job on the possible scenarios. The only thing that I see is that each team should finish with 14 games (playing 7 SOC1 schools *2). So, several schools must have some make-up games yet to be played. After tonight's game with Clay, the Eagles will be 10-0 or 9-1 in league with 4 games to play. That extra game is a HUGE factor in your overall analysis.
Just come out and play your heart out Eagles. The only team that can take the title from you at this point is YOU!

Re: 02-02-10 Eastern @Clay
If the Eagles play hungry then Eastern by 20. Eagles play content then Eagles by 2 or maybe even a close loss. A loss would maybe do them some good. Get them fired up and ready to finish the season strong going into the post season. It is completely up to them. Clay will play their game but I think it is up to how hungry the Eagles play as to whether they win or lose. I'm betting on enough intensity to beat the Panthers.
Re: 02-02-10 Eastern @Clay
Well I know Clay is hungry for this win. Coming off three close loses. There going to come out fired up on there home court. But Best of luck to both teams. Make it a good clean game!!! Go Panthers.
