jgordan jinxed Portsmouth! South Point got waxed by Zane Trace. Peake won over Huntington ST Joe (Team from WV who beat Oak Hill earlier in the year but lost to Sp and Fairland). Who the heck knows anymore?????

Ironton 70 Gallipolis 61
Tigers broke 50-50 tie with 6:10 left to play when freshman Trey Fletcher scored eight layups in about two minutes as IHS blanked the Gallians 13-0, then rolled to a 70-61 victory.

Ironton reserves won 43-33 and GAHS frosh won 35-28.

It took me about 45 seconds of watching Trey Fletcher to see realize I was watching the best freshman in the SE district.

... not looking good for games this Friday or Saturday as the "weather experts" are calling for 4-8 inches of snow/sleet/ice beginning Friday morning ... I92 - I sat next to Trey's mom and dad at Warren last week - nice folks ... outstanding basketball player for the next 3 years to come for I'town ...

I'd quit my day job!!! LOL ... I did follow the updates on the puter - while listening to the Logan loss to marietta ... the PHS game sounded like it lived up to it's billing ...

Main Man - I knew/know what ZT brings to the table - very strong with Haynes and Maxwell ... throw in Chamberlin, Cochenour "squared" (Dallas/Derek), Tripp, Moore, Davis - heck MM the boys from down on Rt 180 are just good ... I thought South Point would play them much closer however - didn't happen - ZT showed why they ARE in the Elite 8 ...

Valley beat Wheelersburg at Burg on Tuesday 47-45.

Valley beat Western last night 72-46.

Valley is now 10-4

Oak Hill @ Waverly ... the Tigers fell from the Elite 8 with their back to back losses starting with the 48-50 set back to - wait for it ...... Coach Persin's Oak Hill boys ... WHS looking to turn the tables on OHS in Tiger land ...

South Webster @ Wheelersburg ... the burg has lost 4 of the last 7 games ... obviously not a burglike season - a home W over the 10-2 Jeeps would avenge the earlier 3 point loss at SW ...



South Point @ Chesapeake ... BIG game in the battle on the Ohio ... the first of 2 get togethers for the 2 favorites in the OVC ... SP coming off of a spanking at the hands of Elite 8 Zane Trace (43-73) look to get some respect back while the Peake will be trying to hold serve at home AND keep themselves in striking distance of the Elite 8 ...

Athens @ Nelsonville York ... Coach Skinner going after win number 16 on the season (who'd a thunk it waaaay back in December after AHS lost to Jackson by a 44-70 score) ... the dawgs have made believers out of everyone they've played all season long and 14 straight wins later - take Butcher/Valentour/Pfaff/Maffin/Stanley & Co. to get number 15 in a row and 16 in the 2009-10 campaign ...


Peebles vs Manchester ... an emotional week for the Peebles community - with the loss/viewing and funeral for "community family member"/father to Andy Countryman (pg for PHS) - Charlie Countryman ... the Peebles team showed the togetherness of this TEAM by pulling together to beat rival Leesburg Fairfield 64-41 Tuesday night ... Friday night Manchester comes calling to P'town ... will the emotions of the week take a toll on the TEAM? I look for the entire Peebles community to provide the strength for Seaman/Justice/Collier/Stevens and yes PG Andy Countryman to keep TEAM PHS undefeated on the season for yet another week ...
