SHL Action Week #10 Scores & Standings
SHL Action Week #10 Scores & Standings
We finally had some movement in the standings this week, with Fairfield upending Manchester and Eastern falling to Ripley. Peebles continues their roll, and have had two close games against SHL bottom rung teams Fayetteville and West Union. As one PHS fan told me, from here on out everyone brings their A-game to state-ranked Peebles.

Manchester @ Peebles (ppd to 2/17)
Fairfield @ West Union (ppd till who knows when)
Eastern @ Lynchburg Clay (ppd 2-17)
Saturday, February 6
West Union @ Lynchburg (ppd 2-13)
Ripley @ Fleming County (ppd 2-13)
Fairfield @ Paint Valley (ppd to 2-16)
This is a big week for the Peebles Indians' (14-0, 8-0) quest for the gold ball. They have tough week, facing Fairfield (8-5, 6-2) for the first time this season. The last time these two teams met there was nearly a fight, and all through junior high the Lions have always been a challenge for this group of juniors and seniors. Fairfield is playing very well, and is tied for third in the SHL. Peebles fans are wearing black ribbons to honor Charlie Countryman, and I believe it's the same night as the Coaches for Cancer benefit. I hope a lot of people turn out to help a good cause.
The Indians turn around to face a terrific Manchester Greyhounds team (9-7, 3-6) at home. Their last meeting was one of the games of the year, moving back and forth until Peebles broke away in the 4th. Two dogfights for the Tribe this week.
Fayetteville (4-9, 1-6) has been playing some good ball, falling to the Indians by just 3 points last week. They take on a weak Felicity Franklin team before having a tough, but very winnable, game against Whiteoak (7-8, 4-5).
North Adams (3-12, 2-7) continues to struggle but they have a good matchup against West Union (1-11, 0-8) before facing a strong Ripley squad (9-4, 6-2). Does anyone know when the Ripley/Bethel Tate game is rescheduled for?
Lynchburg (5-8, 4-3) eked out North Adams by a point last week, but they'll have their hands full with Eastern (10-3, 6-1). Eastern had their first SHL loss against Ripley, but they're still breathing down the Indians' necks.
Your BIG Game: Peebles @ Fairfield.

I don't like this topic being so far down the page. bump-bump-bump-bump it up.

The Peebles/Fairfield game should be a great one. The Lions are a new team

As a side note, Blake Justice only needs 25pts for 1400 on his career. If I remember correctly last year he had 39 when we played at Fairfield so we will just have to see what happens.

I've noticed they've been playing well wince the Whiteoak loss.

Tribe, if that's right Blake only needs 109 to be all the all-time boys leader.
Sorry, he'd need 110.

Thats correct, if he averages 20.8 a game for the last 6 he will get 1500 and the school record. Not counting tourny games.

I would like to have a list of the all-time leaders for the entire SHL. Im pretty sure Paul Cluxton from Lynchburg is #1 with like 2100pts but other than that im clueless. Its scary to think of all the records that Blake could break(Total Points, 30 point games, 3 pointers, games played, etc.)

Yes, he is on pace for around 2100. He had 508 his freshman year, 531 his soph. year, and currently has 336 through 14 games this season. He could surpass Cluxton's total depending on how far we go in the tourny. haha tell your Fairfield boys to not gaurd him tommorow so he can get there alittle quicker.

Tribe, I don't know if you'd want them to not guard him...from what I've seen of him in the past he's pretty clutch with a hand in his face, lol

That is true. You know a player is special when he scores 20 and its an off night.

im pretty sure that if we can keep Justice in check and a hand in his face..it will be a struggle for him. Im not taking anything away from Blake..he is a GREAT player, one of the all time SHL greats already. Peebles has not really faced a tough test this year and we sure are not going to lie down like broken toys and let them run all over us.

Zane Trace, South Point, and Ripley are not tough tests?

Sounds like lion99 hasn't seen the indians play since 99 if he thinks peebles only has one weapon.
Re: SHL Action Week #10 Scores & Standings
justice may have a harder time scoring big next year without seaman to take off some of the pressure. without seaman he may see more face guarding and he might even see what happened to stephon curry where a team double teamed him the whole game.
