Markie Tate and Clay Ullman are Seniors.

Athens has 11 players back, including 7 starters and 4 all league players, Greg Pach, Doug Chapman, Kyle Dean, and Dean Maffin.

The Athens players mentioned by Bulldog 64 are all excellent players and even better young men that are very well coached. The Dogs will be hard to beat in 2010! They have a fine program.

My mistake. Ullman is a Jr but Tate is a senior.
All three are great ball playes. Watkins has been 1st team All-TVC and 1st team All-District both of his freshman and sohpmore years. Ullman is a great contact hitter and Tate is a great athlete whis is a vey good fielder.

Nick Hunter from NY has pretty decent stuff from what I hear.

Andy Grillo and Curtis Rose from VC should be a pretty good duo this season.

After watching most of the kids compete in Legion Ball after high school baseball season was overwith ... Some of the Athens kids really took off and became much better players ... DEAN MAFFIN, KYLE DEAN, COLTON NOFTZ, DOUG CHAPMAN all really, really improved over the summer ... GREG PACH is just a tremendous talent that didn't really need to improve much, he seemed to be at the top of his game since the very first game last spring.

THE PLAYER THAT IMPROVED THE MOST BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS THOUGH WAS TYLER THOMPSON (FEDERAL HOCKING) ... that kid was a flat out stud during the summer last year ... I know he's in the Hocking - but he impressed me more so than any player I watched all year.

One BIG player to expect alot from this year is Josh Jones from Wellston!! He may hit 10 homeruns and drive in 50 runs. probably the best speed in the league. No one will dare run on this big man with his arm!!
