Chesapeake Panthers 7th Grade boys got the #5 seed...and ended the Dragons season tonight 40-39. Way to go boys!!!!!!!!!

Panthers play Pointers Wednesday, Feb 10 at 5:30pm at South Point. These two teams split their two games during the season, each winning on the others home court.

Chesy 8th grade boys also rolled over Rock Hill tonight.

'Twas a good night to be a Panther fan...and Panther Dad! :-D

Monday - Chesapeake vs. South Point 8th Grade
Tuesday - Chesapeake vs. South Point 7th Grade

Don't know about the other games. I'm assuming Coal Grove vs. Rock Hill for 7th grade and Fairland vs. Coal Grove for 8th grade. Is this right?

The Chesy/S Point games could be good ones. Both grades split the series in regular season.

Heard earlier that if it doesn't take place that the trophies will be awarded by seed....

What a crock of sh!t...The 7th grade level was way to close to award a conference tourny champ by seed.

The title game went into 2 ot's.........

The o.v.c. big dawgs need to make certain that they get this off to show the young men of this tourny what it is about!

It is no wonder that there isn't any team in the o.v.c. that ever advances very far in any sport with this kind of leadership at the top!

Could someone please tell me why they didn't play the game on saturday as was originally posted......I heard that 2 teams were the reason..........News flash I don't think they have lacked any more gym time than any other team!

I KNOW THIS TO BE A FACT DUE TO SPEAKING TO REF THAT WAS GOING TO CALL THE GAME.TOO bad that the conference allows the teams up the river to set the dates that everyone else has to play......

Heard it wa because Fairland 8th was not going to be able to make it cause like the whole team was going out of town. They would have had to forfeit and it would have looked bad cause SP was the # 2 seed and it would have looked like SP had it when Fairland couldn't have been there. There is no easy answer for all of this just blame it on the weather. They can't keep delaying it if we get that huge storm again so what do you do. River Valley can't even host the 2nd rounds and it is now move to Peake for the girls tourney.

As for the trophy they wont even order them if there is no tourney.. ( i guess if the same teams wins both reg. season and tourney they are going to save money an put the reg. season and tourney on the same trophy) i think the league is trying to save money

was fairlands 8th. in tourn, i know 7th. was early in season over in huntington or wv. any way it was in paper. and that is a no no because your aloud 14 games and 1 tourn. which the 1 tourn. is the o.v.c. tourn. so fairlands 7th. should not even been in the tourn.

i believe the rule states one postseason tournament, so a regular season tourny would count against the 14

As far as Fairland's 7th grade goes, the 'Peake knocked them out in the first round, so they weren't long for the tournament anyway.

We were looking forward to the "rubber match" with South Point. Panthers were starting to believe they could make a run...and then it snowed...and snowed...its still snowing.

Oh well, we'll see you all next year! Good luck to all the OVC schools in the playoffs!

RV 8th grade beat Coal Grove, so Fairland vs. RV; and Peake vs. SP.

It would have been hard to get this in during the past week and this upcoming week. Should have been played last Sat. though in my opinion.

It is a little odd that every other league around was capable of getting the tourny in but the ovc could not find a way? I wonder how many little league tournys have started and managed to finish since this was to start? The league was too close on both levels to throw the tourny out the door b/c a couple of teams didn't agree with the Sat play!

What a great finish to a very exciting season! This season has been a great learning experience,Not only for the KIDS but also for the parents. If you have 2 teams out of your league that disagree with a date that your league sets for the tourny then cry like hell and then they will cancel and everyone has a great season.I have heard two stories. The first being from one of the officials that was doing the tourny, and it was that the Grove and Fairland had issues with Sat play. The second came from a coach who told me the story was that the kids needed a break before track! How about the figure heads get together and lets put one story out that everyone in the conference agrees with so that we can pass this b/s along to the CHILDREN that you all have cheated out of this!As far as the second story,my son played his last football game on a Thursday, and began b-ball on the following Monday.HOW MANY DAYS DO THEY NEED AS A BREAK FOR TRACK?I am still not sure what the real reason is,but it would be great if someone had the b@lls to stand up and tell the truth.
