OVC Middle School Tournament

on a mission: I agree with you that they don't need that long of a break. The way this winter is they won't have track until April. They are teenagers and should recover quick enough. That second story sounds like a pretty bad excuse to me.

Word is that the principal's are talking about having the tournament march 1,2,3. But it is up to a vote of the principal's.

Im so confused. Is the boys tournament back on? What about the girls tournament? We were very disappointed that the tournament was cancelled. One more question, are you sure about those dates above? Mar 1 2 3? I know the 8th grade class at Fairland leaves March 1st for their class trip to Washington, DC. I would love to see the tournament played.

That is the dates of the boys tourney don't know about the girls though. They rescheduled it once for Fairland so I doubt if they get their way again. They aren't playing this week because the teams have not practiced and there is supposed to be more snow on the way AGAIN!

I agree. Just schedule it and play, I can't believe they cancelled it in the first place. Its been really an extraordinary set of circumstances this year with the snow and all the school cancellations but the OVC needs to have the tournament. I hope that they reschedule the girls tournament too.
Snow has become a dirty word! I dont want ANY MORE! lol

It's cancelled again. This is getting a little embarassing. The league is drawing some negativity towards itself, IMO.

Something about some players are already playing AAU ball. Anybody comfirm this???

But if the kids were told the season was over and then practiced and played AAU and then told to come back and finish those kids would be ineligilbe!

How embarassing for the OVC. I know everything was done to have it and to do it right but the weather and circumstances were just not in their favor!

Just was told by a parent that they sent the boys home and told them no more practice because there would be no tournament.

WOW WEEEEEEEEEEEEE, OVC.You guys should be so proud of the way that you have handled this tournament!(Of course I hope you know that this is dripping with sarcasm)As I mentioned in an earlier post,It amazes me that every other team in the entire tri state area was capable of getting their games in.From the grade school level up!Who ever is the responsible party, whether it be the principles or ads should be embarassed of the way they handle this!

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY MORE THAN ( WOW ) BUT I WON'T THIS IS WHY WE GET ALOT OF BAD CRITICISM FROM AREA LEAGUE'S ON HOW THE O.V.C. IS A JOKE AND I ASK EVERY ONE HOW DO YOU DEFFEND A LEAGUE WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS,ON A MISSION IS RIGHT ALL OF THE OTHER SCHOOL'S DID GET GAMES IN AND R.H.L.L. BASKETBALL HAS HELD 2 TOURN. AND WE HAD A L.L. TEAM PLAY AT SOUTH POINT WHEN WE WAS TO BE PLAYING AT THAT TIME. SO WHEN I SAID I BELIEVE MORE THAN ( wow ) NEEDS TO BE SAID I ALSO BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKING CARE OF AND WHO EVER THE ( PERSON OR PEOPLE ) HAVE TO ANSWER FOR IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the reason of the cancellation of the OVC tournament? The organizer of the tournament shouldn’t allow it to happen because participants from different middle schools were expecting for the tournament. They practiced and trained so hard to join the tournament. I hope that this will be resolved soon.
