National Signing Day: Roback and Southworth

There is a short story on there now with two longer ones coming and exclusive video interviews with both players.
Here is a snippet from the interviews.
Derek Roback, Notre Dame
"It's something I never dreamed would happen," Roback said. "It's kind of a weight off my shoulders too. I committed in August (to Toledo) and thought it was over and then it wasn't."
Caleb Southworth, Central Michigan
"I'll bring them 100 percent effort and hopefully in the future some more MAC titles."

Re: National Signing Day: Roback and Southworth
Congratulations to the both of them. I would be safe in saying that this is the first time in Pike County that 2 players from these 2 teams have committed to a D I program at the same time. Waverly has had what 8 or so D I players, in Thompson, Robinson, Walls, Roback, and a few others that are slipping my mind. Piketon now has added its third with Willson, Thacker and Southworth.
Re: National Signing Day: Roback and Southworth
I never really thought about it, but I guess Piketon has only had one kid go on to play D1 football and make it. That was in the 60's, the drought has been too long! Hopefully Southworth will be the 2nd!
Go Chippewas.
Go Chippewas.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH YOUNG MEN, AND CONTINUED FUTURE SUCCESS.
Re: National Signing Day: Roback and Southworth
He's not talking about Daylight Savings Time issues. The time is off 25 minutes. Look at the top right of the page where it shows the current time.

I hope both young men have great college experiences!
Re: National Signing Day: Roback and Southworth
What about the Gifford boy who graduated from Piketon around '95 or '96. Didn't he sign with App State. That's a D1 school. That would be four from Piketon who have signed with a D1 school.
