Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
WOW there was three GREAT games of basketball tonight!!!! Clay girls and boys won all their games. All I can say is THANK YOU to both schools for an exciting night of basketball.
Re: Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
All three were struggles, the girls were able to put up the points, the boys played some excellent defense.
Now let's hope we get some respect for the tournament seeding!

Over looked in the past, but there is NO WAY that either team is a 5 seed or lower.
NO WAY!
NO WAY!

I agree Jake, Clay 7th grade beat SW twice and SW beat Valley and then Clay 7th graders play Northwest on Weds. If Clay 7th grade pulls out a win and the seeding isn't out then Clay should be placed high. The 8th grade pulled out a major win tonight against a very strong team. I would not discount the 8th grade at all. I know that it is pre-season but the 8th graders beat West and Oak Hill. All I can say is that let these teams discount these Clay teams and watch what happens.

Work is going to get in the way tonight, I need a full report from Clay Nation after the game at Green!

It's a Junior High Tournament. What does where you get seeded matter? If your that good you will win no matter what, right?

Its called RESPECT!! Teams work hard to earn respect during their season. They want to see their accomplishments recognized. If seedings don't matter then why does the NCAA seed teams Shoo Chue???

Re: Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
if seeding doesnt matter why not have the burg and valley play each other first and knock one of them out and then let a couple of teams with 5-6 ort 7-7 records play each other and get to the chanpionship game with a team under 500. Seeding apparently is important why do the Pro Football teams go on records, Basketball goes on records and then are seeded according to win and losses how about tennis they seed the top 32 players and then go down from there ???
Re: Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
Also why is every basketball team in the state of ohio seeded at the end of the year and the team with the best record seeding with a bye and the teams with most losses play each other. Also how about high school football over 800 schools go on wins and losses and the top 4 in each region play at home and the other 4 have to travel? i quess i just dont understand the statement

Are you really going to compare a middle school girls tournament to the NCAA tournament? Seriously? Take a deep breath and calm down.

From what I hear they went to a fight, and a basketball game broke out.
Yes ManitouDan, they lost.

Re: Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
I wasn't offering up any dig at them -- just very suprised.
as a side note I'd like to know what others thought about the old guy that called the 3 games for the ND 7-8th grade. younger guy was OK but the old guy ( Mr Walking lOL) was just bad. not a cheat or anything , you could just tell wasn't used to the speed of todays game or players. really should consider retiring or calling 4-6 th grade games. took away from what was a good night of ball. Clay's girls team is really good. Freeman and Curly are outstanding. Freeman shot 3's far better than any of the young guys. MD

Well here's some noise from the Clay Nation!!! Clay's 8th grade did lose after a tough "fight". Making their record 10-2 on the season. A record to be very proud of!!! Let's not forget that the 7th grade boys and the girls teams both won!!! I believe the girls are now 14-0 on the year!!! Kudos to coaches Compton and Freeman for getting both teams ready for the back to back hard fought games.

I'm no fan of the "old guy". He is always trying to rush the games. I got a chuckle out of him at one game he was pounding on the scorers table demanding that at half time the time to be reduced between qtrs. If you watch him enough and I have, he is slow to call jump balls in the 4th qtr and will over look calling fouls especially when it comes to 1 and 1 shots. I do give him credit he equally doesn't call the fouls both ways. I found out he works nights and has to leave right after the games to go to work. Now to his defense I guess he was sick at the Clay VS ND game that's why he was "walking".

I did'nt mean he walks around -- I meant he called quite a few travels that looked clean in my book. esp on one poor girl from Clay. and the 1st charge call on the ND 8th grader at crunch time was pretty weak. the 2nd one -- right call all the way. MD
Re: Clay Vs. N. Dame 2/3/10
snowman, I just lost all respect for you. Clay fans are very proud about the Junior High basketball teams. If your favorite team/school was having the improvement this year they have had this season, (Clay lost to ND 60-19 last year) you would be boasting too. I just wish that this thread had a "web cam" so everyone could see the "negative posters" LIKE YOU!
