It'll be a tougher road than last year, but with three southeastern ohio teams reaching Regionals, I'd say Oak Hill has as good a shot as any other D3 team from around here. Not sure what the East District will send down (Sugarcreek Garaway?), but I'd put the Oaks in the same class as Peebles, Ironton, Chesapeake, etc.*

Without a doubt they are contenders.

Don't discount Ironton they lost early games due to a extended season of football but they are playing better than most teams are. They are playing a level higher than most teams are And ports. no disrespect but Ironton is truly the team to beat in this regional

In that sectional maybe. I think Zane Trace is stronger then Ironton.

Piketon went on a run last year and Oak Hill has the same caliber team.. Anything can happen when you have Norm on the sidelines.

Piketon also had the size of a championship team. I dont know much about Oak Hill, do they have much height? I know they lost their big man JD Hale from last year, have they had anyone successfully fill his spot in the lineup?

They have a 6th man from last years team that was the same size as Hale. He played a huge part in the championship run. He has stepped in nicely.

What are the heights for their starting lineup?

Oak Hills starting line up:
Westen Hale 6'1"
Kyle Ondera 6'1"
Chris Fairchild 6'2"
Jesse Slone 6'3"
Austin Brown 6'3"

Off the bench:
Drew Cannon 6'3"
Nick Gaines 6'5"
Josh Kisor 6'4"
I wouldn't really consider Oak Hill small. And the starting 5 aren't built like sticks neither, they are physically fit kids that are athletic and can play very physical.
Defensively Oak Hill is only allowing 39.5 pts a game.

Oak Hill is allowing only 39.5 PPG on defense.......but what is the opponents' field goal percentage? And how many turnovers a game do the Oaks force?........that is more of a true indicator of good defense.......while 39.5 PPG may be the result of a slower pace of play, with fewer possessions for the other team.

I agree with most of the other posts.......there are probably around 6 teams with a chance to make it to the Final 4 from the SE District in D3........Oak Hill is one of those teams.

I don't think Zane Trace would beat Chillicothe and Ironton has beat them twice....and Warren twice.

ZT is great...but IMO Ironton has done more thus far.

I know you can't compare like I just did and be overly accurate...but why do you feel ZT is better than Ironton? Becasue they were defeated by Manchester 2 months ago? ZT was ugly a couple of times early on as well.

Ironton is deep and have one of the very best coaches in the district.

...oooh, just figured it out......Peebles beat SP by 4 at Peebles and then ZT killed SP at SP by 30....is that it?

It's interesting how teams improve as the season goes.....both ZT and Arnton definately have. I rememeber a scrimmage at Jackson where Peake beat ZT something like 44-16. Tourney will be fun.....I hope teams are appropriately seed at Jackson.

Actually it was mainly the ZT/SP game, ZT is playing the hottest basketball entering tourny time. Ironton on a good day is not 30 pts better than SP. I look for these two teams to meet up either in districts or regionals, so I guess we will find out then. :-D

Winning by 30 is great...but winning by 1 gets you to the next round as well....I'm telling you beating Chilly twice and Warren twice is just darn near impossible. They find a way better than anyone else I feel. The good news is that all these hot teams and dangerous teams are taking much talk from a certain undefeated team that you know and love.....that could help. NA didn't have that last year as much.

RIGHT now ZT is the hottest team....Oak Hill is close

Whoever is the hottest in about 3 weeks will be the team that goes to the state final 4

I'm not gonna say whether or not this team is going to make it..but I will say that this team isn't near the Oak Hill team last year. And I honestly don't mean that as an insult to this years team, it's just last years team was much better rounded.

I agree with this. This team doesn't have the presence in the middle that last years team did with Hale. They also don't have a consistent long range shooter that Bordan was.
