Peebles ekes out Lynchburh 67-65. I heard the Tribe didn't lead until the third. PHS has a way of playing poorly against bad teams the day before a big game...here's hoping they put it together against Eastern tomorrow.

It looked like Peebles was dealing with the rust accumulated over their long break. Lynchburg's shooting was as close to perfect as you could hope in the first half(topped off by a buzzer beating half court shot). Blake Justice was the leading scorer with 24(He is now at 1422 for his career) followed closely by Andrew Seaman with 23. The Peebles JV team came away with a 19 point victory as AJ Chamblin scores 21 and Jacob Daniels finishes with 14pts and 12rebs. The Peebles Freshman team also came away with a narrow victory.
Current Peebles records:
Varsity 16-0
JV 14-2
Freshmen 13-1(I think)

Andrew Seaman passes Dave Smalley on the Peebles all-time boys scorer's list. The top five are:
1. Bobby Huffman (1956) 1484
2. Blake Justice (2011) 1422
3. Marc Kremin (1987) 1296
4. Michael Cheesbro (2003) 1288
5. Andrew Seaman (2010) 1191
(Should be noted that Marc played 3 years varsity, the others were freshmen starters...and no, I'm nott aking anything away from any other player, or putting up an asterisk, I'm just saying he was a good ball player)

Also, Marc did not have the "luxury" of a 3 point line either.

Nor did Bob Huffman. Or most players on our all-time scoring list.

Blake has not had a full three years of varsity though. Looks to me like Andrew could end up #3 on the list.

I believe tonight's win means the Indians' magic number is 1 to win the league, correct?
Re: SHL Action Week #11 Scores & Standings
jchitwood,
i hate to burst your bubble but there is no overall winner in the league since each division does not play the other division twice. peebles is the small school champion and ripley and eastern brown are both still in the running for the big division. to be the overall league champion you would have to play all of the d3 schools a second time from the other division.
