not sure why was supposedly brought in to help with pass blocking last year? Didn't the 2008 OL block for both a 1000 yard rusher AND a 1000 yard passer, the first time in school history and with a lot less sacks on the QB? The fact remains that the new coaching staff has set themselves up in a win-win situation, with some great kids that have already been priviledged to a couple of years of some outstanding coaching.

I have always believed he joined the coaching staff because of his experience with the Tony Franklin system.
Yes the sacks allowed did go up from 9 in '08 to 12 last year with a lot more passing. Half of those were caused by bad exchanges and snaps. 4 were when it was 3rd and long from under center, and only 2 when the QB was in the shotgun.
Trojan_FB_Alum, Yes Really, the reason for the OL passing comment.

gwell, I don't mean to insult you or Notre Dame because I think they will have a good team this year, and a lot of that will be due to their O-line. However calling them the best in southern Ohio is a bold statement, and I can't see how that is true. Notre Dame doesn't play the schedule to judge how good they are really against other teams, but I find it hard to believe that they are as good as some of the bigger schools. They maybe as I said the best in SOC1 or maybe one of the better d6 lines around.

Thankfully for Notre Dame they don't have to be better than any of those bigger schools’s O-line, they just have to be better than the d-line they face that night. I think that most the time that will be the case for the Titans this season, at least until they get to the playoffs.

Best of luck ND, hope to see the golden ball return to the Titians this season, and a playoff game down at Spartan.
On a side note it would be neat to see ND and say East both make the playoffs and have a 2nd round or regional championship at the Trojan Coliseum.

Nice post and well said Trojan_FB_Alum. I can accept that, and I will change my comment to arguable for the reasons you mention.
Thanks
