again there is no overall shl champion just like there is no shl player of the year.

where were all of you overall and poy guys in the past on this post when peebles was pulling up the rear? take what you've got and enjoy it, nothing lasts forever.

 I have been noticing a huge shortage of NA fans on here, seems to me like they are all on the girls forum. Every school's fan representation changes with team success. At least in the case of blogging about it online. For someone who seems to realize this you are having a hard time accepting the Indians' success. They are the best team in the SHL this season and Peebles fans are proud of that, move on.

sparky, you know a lot about the game, and it is great to have people with your knowledge of local ball on this forum. But I don't know why you feel the need to pop up on every topic any Peebles fan has ever posted on and make the sour grapes comment "where were you when your team was losing" and "there's no overall winner in the SHL."

As for there being no overall winner, I understand that every team in the SHL does not play the others an equal number of times. Everybody understands that. We get it. I think it sucks. In fast, the big school/small school division in the SHL sucks, because it keeps teams from scheduling more games against non-league teams. But, AS THE SYSTEM CURRENTLY STANDS, Peebles has won more SHL games than any other team in the SHL. Go Indians, Boom.

If we could subtract the 2nd games against the small schools, or play more games against North Adams, West Union, Ripley, Lynchburg, and Eastern, we would; but we can't. I don't remember anyone getting on here last year and saying, "Oh, North Adams didn't really win the overall and don't deserve the gold ball because they didn't play the other SHL teams an equal number of times."

And as for more Peebles fans being on here than in past years...you must copy and paste this comment to every topic on SEOP. OF COURSE there are more people from Peebles on the boys forum, because we're doing well and we're excited. I can't think of one instance where a community DIDN'T rally around a winning team.

As Tribe pointed out, NA fans have flocked to the girls forum, rather than discuss a team that's struggling. Stop acting like it's some sort of a crime to get excited about a winning team and show your support online. You can accuse fans of hopping on a bandwagon, but that doesn't take away from the accomplishments these kids have made, and I'm glad people show support for their schools in a public forum.

Now, if you're wondering why I'M on here more this year than any other, it's because I'm doing work very far away from home, and this is the best way to keep track of my hometown team, and my nephew. I sat in the stands for YEARS and watched the Indians get hammered, so pardon me and the rest of Peebles for expressing a little Indian Pride.

I agree with Tribe and Chit that Indian Pride is alive and well and it shouldn't be a crime for a community to rally behind its team! If this was any other decade except for a few years (here and there) it would be a similar sight with Indian Pride...because as most people around the SHL understands its that the Indians have always had the "winning" program!

i commend all of you for your support of your team. as i have said before there is nothing like small towns getting behind their team. i have been on these forums for a long time, actually before my starting date on here(my computer crashed and i had to start over). but you guys keep coming up with categories that are not real and i don't remember north adams or any other successful team over the years coming on here and bragging about being the overall champion since it is impossible to gage since there is an uneven schedule. now as far as the player of the year it seems to come up every year and even though there is no official player of the year people always find out who received the most votes. i really feel that there is a little animosity going on among your peebles faithful as some of them are trying to stir up a justice vs seaman comparison. they should be happy to have two quality players and not try to play one camp against the other. if you have read my posts i have tried to avoid comparisons as one thing a team does not need is parents and fans trying to stir up the pot and cause dissension.
there is nothing to be ashamed of being the small school champion but the overall is a moot point as we will never know since they are divided in two. now if they were to go back to one league then you would have a true overall league champion. enjoy the ride with a little humility because as i said before nothing lasts forever. or the old adages what goes around comes around and every dog has his day. good luck in the tournament.

Please dont put all of us North Adams fans together as Peebles haters because we are not. I think i post just as much this year as in past years. I have a lot of friends in the Peebles area and if you guys knock us out of the tourney i will go and watch you guys the rest of the way. Good luck except when you play us.

It seems to me that sparky is having a hard time admitting that peebles is the best team in the shl. For several years all we heard about was north adams, and rightly so, but sparky its time to wake up and smell the roses your time is over for now so move on. We at peebles have always supported our teams through thick and thin. The way the shl is set up now peebles has the best record of ANY team. While you keep putting all of our fans down for being on here supporting our boys hopefully we will keep winning and maybe we will meet your north adams team at waverly, that is if you can get by paint valley. So why dont you go to the girls forum and leave us alone! Good luck indians we are behind you!!!!

Funny. Kind of like the pot and the kettle....? Any time I have posted my opinion as to why Seaman would get my vote for POY, and, yes, Sparky, I know there really isn't one in the SHL, I have done this as a response to the thread's title. It has never been done out of animosity, or any other negative reason. I believe that while Peebles is extremely fortunate to have two excellent players on the same team, my vote goes to Seaman due to the fact he is a senior, and Justice will have his "day" next year. Tribemaniac mentioned this very thing in another thread, about two other players on a different team/league, one a junior, one a senior.

As far as stirring the pot, Justice and Seaman are great friends, from what I hear, and their "team" spirit is evident on the floor, every game.
The thread was concerning potential POY. Why is it showing up here? Cause Sparky likes to keep bringing up things to put any Indian fan down. Instead of being a wolf in sheep's clothing, maybe he's an Indian in Devil's clothing.....

Blake Justice could arguably be the POY every year. This year, my vote goes to Seaman. I'll go ahead and submit my vote for next year's POY: Blake Justice. Go Indians!

Oh, and BTW, if the Indians weren't winning, I would still support them, I just wouldn't have as good a reason to be on seops, now would I?

My guess Sparky might be from Whiteoak, just a guess. It seems he's not a indian fan or maybe just doesn't like Peebles. Sucks to be you Sparky.

cheer,
why couldn't you participate on seop even if they weren't winning? losing teams need support as much, if not more than winning teams.
are you saying this is more of a bragging forum instead of an information forum? are you admitting to being a frontrunner?
i support north adams on here the same if they are winning or losing.
