It's hard to pick out the best player due to the different positions but from North Adams I would go with Nathan Copas as the best guard, Troy Storer as the best post player, and Kraig Unger as the best all round player.

It always amuses me when these topics are brought up, the only player ever mentioned for a boys program at Logan, is Katie Smith. Gotta lotta love for Katie, but dear God its a boys basketball question.

For Logan;
1000 point scorers:
Doug Stiverson
Coy Lindsay
Patrick Angle

2000's (in my opinion)
Joey Conrad
Johnny Conrad
Patrick Angle

1990's
Coy Lindsay
Josh Lawrence

1980's
Doug Stiverson
Jack Miller
Kerry York
Keith Myers
Tim Moore

1970's
Mark Shaw
Jim Pierce
Mike McBroom

As a kid growing up at Piketon, You have to say Cat Man! Anyone that had a hair cut named after him had to be pretty good!

If not the best at Waverly, Kretzer is right up there. He should break the schools career scoring record needing just under 400 coming into the season. Waverly has had some great b-ball players (I grew up watching Shoemaker, Miller, Eblin & the like) but Jake is a very unique athlete. At 6'7" he can play any position on the floor making him a threat to score from anywhere on the floor, and anyone who has watched him play knows anywhere literally means anywhere. Jake is a very gifted athlete who could have excelled at QB or WR on the football field.

IMO Katie would've scored a 1,000 for the boys.

Since SG has a fairly short existence I am going to go with Mark Swain of Hannan Trace High School in 1974 & 1975. He was 1st team Class A all state and averaged 32 points per game his senior year. Can you imagine if there had been a 3 point line? John Lusher from 1974 team is also worth mentioning.

Symmes Valley's best had to be Don Wilson, (1970) Averaged 41 points per game, leading scorer in the OVC two years straight. SV was in the OVC until 73 when they went to the SVAC.

Over 3500 pts over 500 more than anybody else. 69 in a game 60, 57,56 and in the record books for many others accomplishments.

Yeah, she was tremendous without any doubt....did OK at Ohio State and very well at OU....put the schedule she played and the % of her teams' shots is why she's so far ahead of everyone.

Katie Smith

Jamie Lewis

Marlene Stollings

Kayla Cook, Beth Howe, Alyssa Hammond.....and some others.

Telling my age I guess, Jeff May of Blue Creek was the best player I have ever seen from Southeast Ohio. The guy would be good even today. With that being said, I am from Peebles, my vote for a top 5 pick of Peebles with Kremin, Justice, Johnson, and Smalley, is Andrew Seaman. He did play 4 yrs varsity so maybe the numbers are a little skewed, but no one from Peebles has matched them in the records we have. Total points 1332. Rebounds 500 plus, assists 300 plus, steals 192, blocked shots 100 plus. No one in our history has those kinds of numbers. Asfar as defense,You might ask the all state district player of the year from Ironton how he liked having Andrew guard him in the district final. Just my thoughts. I am biased.

South Gallia has a short history.
But top 4 boys
1. Curt waugh ( 1000+ points, leader in assists)
2. Jason merrick (1000+ points)
3. Josh Waugh (1000+ points)
4. Gareld Cade ( had a great senior year 20+ ppg, 8+ rebs a game, but had limited mins in younger years due to a great class of players before him)

Some notable girls
Jennifer Sheridan (only 1000 point scorer)
Taylor Duncan ( very good passer)
Canaday ( in her senior year)
