I think most would agree that Symmes Valley has underachieved this season. I must admit that after seeing them last year and knowing that they had their entire roster back, I never dreamed that Eastern could beat them this year. Coach Fitch and the staff at Eastern have done a commendable job!

That being said, it may not be your new coaches fault for the underachieving....or it may be??? It would be impossible for any outsiders to determine this. Are there player problems? Parent issues? turmoil on the team? many things can cause a team to not perform to their capability.

Still, if tibbs was not in down the stretch, that does seem odd unless he was sick, tired, or not doing what his coach wanted him to do. Only the players and your coach have these answers.

tibbs looked like he had an off night missed all of his outside shots and eastern was putting two people on him and leaving one sv player ungaurded in there 2-3 zone so i think the coach done the right thing trying to find the right 5 kids.and your right sv has alot of talent but have never been taught the fundamentals and you can't teach them in one season i know pj was not liked very well the first season he was there but has done very well teaching his kids his game time will tell.i can't remember when sv played defense as good as we have played this year we were in every ballgame and good coaches will tell you work on the d first and the o will come with time.i think sv will be hard to beat every year.

as for underachieved 2nd place from 4th place not bad and it was sv and eastern picked to win the soc and sv played eastern well but came up short thats not underachieved thats making a step forward.sv has only won the league outright 1 time.2nd in the league your first year is pretty good

Agree 2nd is an improvement. By underachieve, I think what is being implied is that Symmes Valley has more talent than the other SOC1 schools. IMHO, I would have to agree with that.

From My understanding Jerome is a excellent coach.

Example: Midway in the fourth quarter-down by 6 ,He pulled Tibbs(1000 POINT + SCORER) to rest him ???
for the stretch run and Symmes valley only lost by 11. Do the Math...

I can't do the math if I don't have all the facts. How many did Tibbs score prior to his rest? Was he having a good night or not? Was he so tired that he wasn't able to give it his all and NEEDED a break? I was there, and there WERE many factors.

well it seems like clark griswold needs to stop trying to stir the pot. Symmes Valley has lost some close games this year and everybody wants to blame the coach well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the coach isnt out there shooting the free throws or making the shots. So people need to look at the games and how well their defense has kept them in games and that a break here or there could have netted a few more wins, but there are a lot of teams out there thats would love to be 12-6 and 10-4 in their league, I understand most of the complainers are parents who think their kids are way better than what they are and that will happen everywhere but people need to take a step back and look at the season and realize it was sucessful season and stop the blame game, the boys played hard and worked their butts off and should be commended as well as the coach who came into a situation where just as many people wanted to see him fail as succeed and that is the truth.

I believe he scored 8 on the night? A couple of offensive rebounds led to some stick backs for him.

I have no dog in the fight...just an observer. No kids on the team, don't live in the district...just happened to take in the game and remember all the hoopla about this team, prior to the season good and bad.

It was just my opinion (which I think I am entitled to) that his talent wasn't being utilized to it's fullest on Saturday. I made that observation and I stick to it.

Those of you that disagree with me, it happens, we don't see eye to eye on something. I never said Fuller was poison to your program or anything. I just asked if the valley faithful were pleased this late in the season with this being such a hot button issue this past fall.

i think if you look at the season and how they have turned up the heat on defense it has been a very good season we just need better offense and that will come.on the 6 loses 4 loses only by 1 point two overtimes 1 game by 8 only 5 with a minute left to go and the last game by 11 only 5 with 1min.20 sec. to go the last team shot 98% from the line good job to the eastern kids to seal the game.i look for sv to do well the next few years.and tibbs looked like he had an off night and also eastern was putting two kids on him every time he touched the ball even taylor, craft, johnson, bowling looked like they had an off night to and thats your main scores on the team that will happen from time to time but sv has proven this year they dont get down they fight back the next game

Symmes Valley is a well coached team. Their problem is IMO they lack a true ball handler. Tibbs is a heck of a player and can go off for 30 at anytime!

Borders Rewards, you are just on this forum trying to start trouble. That is not what this forum is for. We want to talk about the Eastern Symmes Valley game so if you don't have anything to say about that don't say anything. As for the game Saturday I thought it was a very physical game. I thought that Eastern controlled the tempo in that 2-3 zone which hurt the Vikings because we all know they are not a very strong shooting team. They have a couple shooters but when they are off, they are OFF. Hopefully they can regroup and get ready for the tourny!! Remember boys you win you're in, you lose you're out. Goodluck and Go Vikes!

I am an outside observer and I have always noticed Tibbs's demeanor and talent. He is not cocky or arrogant like I have seen some big scorers from other teams. I am sorry, but I disagree with this comment.
