Nice rankings Floyd ... You could have saved yourself some work though if you would have just listened to me before the season ... I told you numerous times that Athens should be around 6th or 7th - and you end up awarding them the 5 spot.

How about the sectional taking place in your back yard this year ... LOGAN ELM (Floyds #1 team, ranked 8th in the state), ATHENS (Floyds #5, ranked 11th in the state) ... WARREN (Floyds No. 8 team) ... SHERIDAN (13-4) who Floyd must have forgot when he did his rankings ... VINTON COUNTY (14-5) ... and FAIRFIELD UNION, which was one of only two teams to beat Logan Elm this year ...

* It doesn't get much better than that Pfloyd, you got it made this year - all you have to do is hang out in Logan for a week and then truck it on down to the Convo for the remainder of the tourney.

^ I'm sure Pfloyd is on cloud nine with some good tourney ball in Logan. I'm looking forward to making the trip down U.S. 33 to see Logan's new digs tomorrow night to watch Logan Elm and New Lex.

What else? Other pretty big upsets occured but many were for injuries, suspensions or difficult league making for lower than expected records.

... it's great to see the "buzz" over the "survive and advance" season on all of the threads in the basketball forum ... you are always going to get the comparison of the various leagues , you will have the match ups of teams from the same leagues going for the chance to win the Sectional and make it to basketball thirty at the Convo ... there are teams that WILL make the trip by winning but one game - fair? unfair? THAT'S the way the basketball gods have things set up - do we have to like it ? nope ... can we change it ? nope ... take a deep breath , enjoy the ride , enjoy the performances on the court - some of those kids have entertained us for 2,3,4 years and are making their last appearance in front of the fans of Southeastern Ohio hoops - enjoy it folks - we're getting down to the time of year when the opportunity to see "a game" is just that - fewer and fewer games to make "road trips" to see ... in less than 3 weeks the show will be gone for yet another year ... enjoy the kids , the show while we still have a chance to enjoy them ...

... wow - does it get any better than the games tonight?!! ... saw the Athens vs Warren game ... listened to the Portsmouth vs Valley game ... the Bulldogs more than held there own vs the SEOAL Warren Local club, Athens holding a 12 point lead over the Warriors at one stretch in the first half ... while Valley came from 15 down in the 3rd quarter to stun the Trojans ... Waverly coming up with a knockout of Chillicothe ... there WAS some expected "Ws" - Peebles taking down North Adams / Zane Trace beating Crooksville by 13 ... Wheelersburg over Oak Hill in their 3rd meeting this year - tough to beat a team 3 times imo ... Northwest came from 12 back to beat Huntington Ross ... Bucking Red - your Dragons must have played well tonight - losing to Belpre in 2OTs ...

Just looking at Piketon's non-conference schedule...looks like the teams they played non-conference according to the posts ABOVE are 5-0 to this point...(Waverly 2-0, Hillsboro 1-0, Vinton County 1-0, Eastern Pike 1-0, Zanesville ?, Cols. Mifflin?)....This may not mean anything to most, but tournament wins are not easy...Winning tournament games is the cream rising to the top...This shows the quality of competition in regular season.
