ballfan13: because they are down this year...everyone has it in for the team on top and that team is currently Oak Hill. A few years ago it was South Webster (along with Burg) and a few years before that it was Valley (along with Burg).*

I can't imagine Barrick tolerating Oak Hill's physical play. If OH plays as rough as they did Saturday the roof will come off the building.

Yea soccerfix i agree. Barrick and the pirates will match the intensity of Persin and the oaks. I hope the atmosphere at this 1 is close to what it was at the downtown arena in Waverly last week. If so it will definitely be worth the price admission. Should be a good 1.

So, here we go! The good ole' Burg beat Valley last night! What a great momentum getter going into Friday. I am sure Persin really wishes he was matching up with another team on Friday rather than the Burg. Not because he is afraid...he is a great coach, simply because it is a third meeting against a team who has nothing to lose, and would love nothing more than to knock off Oak Hill to revitalize a broken season. LET'S GO BURG I can't wait to feel the electric in the gym!

I would hope people wouldn't discount Burg so easily. They played OH very tough the last meeting. If OH doesn't play "lights out", Burg can and will win the game.

I believe that Coach Persin and Coach Barrick have almost 900 wins between them.......not too many tournament games in Ohio matching up more career wins by opposing coaches. Both have taken their teams to the state tournament......Barrick in 1995.......lost to Orrville in the state championship game.......and also in 2006 and 2007.......Persin won the state in D4 with the Oaks in 2009 and had many successful years at Chesapeake.......both coaches have won a bunch of district titles also.

I plan on being there and hopefully watching a good, competitive game!!

Like I said in an earlier post, if I were a coach with a good team...and I looked at the brackets when they were released and saw I had to play W'Burg possibly in the second round, I would grunt and be a little worried, regardless of their record...if Barrick is the opposing coach, your gonna get everything you want.

These things have to happen to pull off the upset.

1. Control the tempo and the ball, limit the Oaks on offense. If you get a lead hold the ball to force them out of the zone.

2. Mr. Bendolph must have a great game, not a good game, but a great game. 15 or more points.

3. Stegman must stay out of foul trouble!!! He did not the first game and they got behind early.

4. Double Ondera and force the others to beat you, easier said then done but you must make others make shots. Triangle and two, box and one, something.

5. Rebound, again easier said then done!!

I am sure Barrick knows everything about Oak Hill, but it will come down to execution!!
