Well this is the match-up everyone wanted the rematch from last year. I will not be betting any body parts this year I only have one arm now! LOL! The Cavs will have to keep playing high intensity to get this one. Unioto wasn't that good, but the play of the Cavs was great! I like the Cavs by 5.

This will be a game between two defensive minded teams........saw Waverly way back in December vs. Logan Elm and have seen the Cavaliers squeak by my Trojans twice........not picking a winner, because I haven't seen the Tigers in a while.......I do know this.......when CHS brings its defensive "A" game, they are tough to beat......PG Michael Turner has had a very good senior year for Chillicothe. Malik London is always a big threat for anyone who tries to take it to the hole. Jalen Ragland can get hot from the outside.

Ok Chilli-Waverly
My thoughts are Waverly needs to take care of the ball nothing fancy dont force the ball and start off by pounding it down inside, then pound it some more when they are done with that pound it some more. I would have all three bigs in the blocks all night, this isnt about style point this is just about the W. Go Tigers
Waverly 46-Chilli 42

If they do that Malik might get a career high in block shots!crazymidgets wrote:Ok Chilli-Waverly

Should be a good game, really I think this game goes down to who makes their FT's and who makes the least mistakes.
I want to see the Malone/Turner and Roback/London match-ups, gonna be a good one!
I'll take Waverly by 9.

Ive seen Waverly twice and they have not impressed me at all, Jackson exposed their guards and Chillicothes defense is much better and faster. Chillicothe by 10
Re: 2/26 2010 Chillicothe vs. Waverly 7:00 @ Southeastern.
I understand Martin hasn't been in the lineup for Waverly the past few games...I assume he'll be healthy for Friday night?
If Chillicothe gets the ball inside to London, which I haven't seen enough from this team, then the Cavs will win the tight battle. I can not fully understand that when you have a guy like Malik on the inside why are you not pounding it into him.
Waverly must play well to advance. The guards must handle the ball and keep the turnovers down. Turner is quick. When he gets the steal, he can go! Waverly must get down the floor.

If Martin isnt close to 100 percent this will be a tough 1 for the tigers.

Re: 2/26 2010 Chillicothe vs. Waverly 7:00 @ Southeastern.
nope he will be gone with fouls you dont shoot over you go through, you control him with your body, Waverly has a huge advantage in strength inside, if you pull up in front of him yeah he will get blocks, 2 hands strong to the hoop see ya next half!!
Re: 2/26 2010 Chillicothe vs. Waverly 7:00 @ Southeastern.
I agree with crazymidgets, Waverly has to pound it inside and pound it inside and then pound it inside some more. Malik may be tall but Waverly's bigs are allot stronger. If Waverly can pound it inside and get Malik in the air he'll get in foul trouble quick.
The biggest task for the Tigers is to shut down Turner. He cannot have a career game or it could be a long night for the orange & black.
Not sure what osubuckeyes2013 is talking about Jackson exposing Waverly's guards but they do need to have a good game by not turning the ball over and playing under control.
Martin will not be 100% but as we saw last night, he will be ready to go.
There will be some good match-ups in this one.

Ill take Waverly by 2. Martin will do enough and the others will step their games up enough to pull out a W. Should be a great game to watch.
Re: 2/26 2010 Chillicothe vs. Waverly 7:00 @ Southeastern.
Again Wavelys Gaurds need to play strong! The Bigs for the TigerS need to control the boards to come out with the victory !! Waverly 53 Chillicothe 49

Depending on whether Martin is 100% or not....
If he is 100%....Tigers by 4.
If he isn't.....Cavs by 11.
Good Luck to both teams!!!

Pounding it inside would be a good idea because London, while being tall and athletic, had troubles against guys that were allowed by the officials to be physical and use superior strength. Also the key for Waverly will be to jump on Chillicothe early and force them to rush the game and make mistakes. If they can do that, they win by 10. If not, Chillicothe will take another step toward Basketball :30 in Athens.

So Bucknut, Oak Hill beat Waverly by 2 and 8 so you're saying Chillicothe is better than the Division 4 defending state champs.
