Peake was a little better. Seemed to me that Peake got every close call for about the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

Kudos to the SP coach...he kept telling the kids the they weren't playing smart enough or hard enough and didn't blame the refs but thought the technical killed them a bit.

Peake is a nice team of baskeball players....Copley is one of those players that just doesn't make many mistakes and does so many things well.

Chesapeake had it the whole time but, South Point kept it close for the fans and so did the refs. There was "T", intentional, and a fan was ejected. All of witch was on South Point.

Yes, the intentional was intentional (sp player grabbed Copley from behind around the neck as he drove to the basket), but the fan didn't say anything bad. He just happened to get the attention of the ref at the wrong time. Hard played game on both sides. The T did take the momentum from sp, but it was a mistake on the part of the sp player (he had just scored and said something inappropriate right in front of the ref). Could have been a turning point for sp with a bit of a momentum shift, but it killed it. Peake played well for the most part but had a few mental lapses that kept sp in the game. Looking forward to the Convo.

Being an unbiased fan, the Peake did get some close calls in the second half. But I also think the Pointers got some questionable calls the first half. Oh well, game is over and it was a good one. I missed the ejection. But the technical and intentional were the right calls. Just a mental lapse but thats why they are kids. Congrats to both teams on THREE hard fought games. And I agree with another post on one of these threads. I believe the regional winner will come from Jackson whoever it might be. Ironton looked tough in a very physical game and cant count out the BURG. Valley and Peake have legit shots as well. Gonna be exciting next weekend!

The refs did play a part in the game. Point had 14-2 pointers. Peake had 12-2 pointers. Both had 3-3 pointers. Peake went 17 for 20 free-throws. Point had 3 free-throws the whole game. The fan that got ejected said "We have had 2 foul shots all night". And the ref ejected him. Peake was in double bonus both halves. Point never reached bonus.
Peake deserved the win. They beat the Point 3 times and should move on. I agree the techinal foul on Cody was the turning point and did kill the pointers chance to finish the comeback. The way the Pointers were turning over the ball was hard to watch. The Peake ran a controlled offense and Copley buried us again.

Copley was not defended well, mismatch all night.

I believe peake committed 11 fouls to s.p. 18. Of course the intentional and technical were shooting fouls (4 of the 20 foul shots) and most of the others were shooting fouls. Fortunately most of peakes fouls were on the floor (a couple I think were offensive). That is the difference in the foul shooting. Smart fouls vs. not so smart fouls.
