Minford 69 Crooksville 58 - Four players in double figures for the Falcons. Matthew Gullett 24 points (11-12 FT line in the 4th Qtr). Kelton Kelley 16 points off the bench, Dillon Shepherd 13 points and Cameron Dalton 11 points. Defensively, Minford held Dustin O'Neal to five points.

Growing up, it was common to see Chesapeake winning playoff games by 50+ points and were always a lock for district finals/regionals. So strange to the program on a downswing.

Ol Baseballstud24 shared a story with me about the time his Alexander Spartans, back in the early 2000s, they won the sectional opener and earned the right to play the Peake (#3 in DIII) in the sectional finals. After the win in the opener, Alexanders locker room was adjacent to Chesapeakes and the coach started a "We want Peake" chant loud enough so Coach Persin and his boys could hear.

Towards the end of the sectional final game, the Chesapeake student section was chanting "Down by 60."

We've definitely been spoiled the past 30 some years wikh great teams Coach Persin and now Coach Davis has put on the floor. Unfortunately the stars have aligned in the wrong way and the talent just isn't there right now. Lots of young guys got starting time and substantial playing time so we'll be back to that level soon hopefully
