A-town I see your point just wanted to put that out there and the unity thing I just put out there also, I think we both want to see this program do well. We have to stay focused and push foward, I can see good things out of this group.

Question to be considered.....Has Mathis and Barnes played that badly ??? You have a senior QB with NO varsity game experience expected to ride in on a white horse and slay the 0-3 dragon ? Unless he also plays special teams like a maniac as well as be a 15 tackle for game defender I just do not see how he will turn things around. Special teams are not good and defense is giving up 5 tds a game. Offense is OK at times but real inconsistent. Just something for consideration in my opinion. And yes, Hinton needs to prove nothing but the parents and administration seem to be circling.

Chillicothe will need an answer for Sharp. Then it still may not be enough.

What is the deal with this senior QB. Was he injured or something?

ERRONEOUSLY declared ineligible by the new administration in the middle of 2-a-days. After an appeal to OHSAA it was determined he should have been eligible all along was what my family down south told me. This is one of the many instances of the new administration messing with things they knew nothing about and chose to be totalitarian rather than think of their own student athlete and the football program. He would have been the starter to begin the season, would have beaten HT for sure, possibly BW, I still think Ironton had way too much for Chilly but the CAVS could be 1-2 or 2-1 instead of 0-3 and reeling right now. But now, not having played for 4 weeks, is he football ready? Probably not. So week 4 of his senior year will probably be lost and if the sophmore QB continues to improve he may never see under center. Good job administration! Way to put your student athletes first over your ignorant pride!

That's tough. Sounds like the kid is a good athlete. I feel for him being deemed ineligable for his senior season because of administration mismanagement. I think there is two ways to look at this. He may be fresh for the game having not played and not taken punishment that a player would take in the first three weeks. On the other hand not having "game legs" and conditioning could be a factor in his play. Either way I am happy his appeal was received and that he will get to play the rest of his senior season jut a shame he had to miss the first 3.

OK...So OUR administration found him to be INELIGIBLE and the OHSAA found him to be eligible????? That might be the first time I have ever heard of this.

I'd like to see the Dogs put together a complete game this week when they return home on the 1 year anniversary of the tornado that tore through The Plains.

Week 1 - Solid D in the 2nd through 4th quarter; Offense sputtered until the 4th quarter
Week 2 - Solid first half on both sides of the ball; didn't go for the throat in the 3rd
Week 3 - Solid D all around; Offense self destructed on a few series early in the game that could have come back to hurt them
Week 4 - Time will tell?

Chillicothe will be more fundamentally sound then they were last year having had Coach Hinton around for a second season. I don't look for a potential "new" quarterback to impact the game that much (as stated earlier; not in game shape and/or use to the speed of the game against a first unit defense).

The Dogs need to stay focused on one game at a time, which I'm sure Coach Adams and his staff have been reminding them of.

To keep it short and brief, divorced parents fighting with each other and putting him in the middle, he was forced to move between the two twice in 3 years, different districts, gross misinturpretation of the transfer rules by the administration.

Big Dog I must concur with you on your assessment of the BullDogs.
Athens and Warren was not the game I expected. Neither team played to their potential. It seemed that each team played 2 qtrs each and were both flat at times. Both are good teams, but both have to keep getting better each and every week. Athens has more weapons that just Sharpe. If the coaches spread the wealth around some. Athens can be a dangerous team for anyone to play. Good luck the rest of your season from Warren
Don't look past anyone, one week at a time.

As Lee Corso would say " Not so fast my friends "....Watched Chilli practice a couple of days this week...seemed focused and worked very hard....few players could see the field for the first time this week in Athens.....Gonna have to predict the upset here...Chilli 24 Athens 17....Athens has not played the schedule Chilli has to this point AND Chilli getting healthy.

One year ago today our community and athletic facilities were devistated by a strong storm/tornado, in the days following the aftermath the Bulldogs rallied around each other and traveled to Chillicothe and pulled off a less than probable win under very tough conditions. Tonight should be very emotional for Athens but if the Bulldogs can remain united and play team football the way they have been able to so far this season they will win tonight. As always I'm hoping for a good, injury free game and good luck to both schools.

This game will help define Chilli's season was the Ironton game a fluke and things just went bad for Chilli or are they in dire need of major changes on all front's not saying coaching but players being moved.
Yes they have had a tough schedule so far and Athens should be a challenge but do they keep it close and go for a moral win if they happen to lose or fall apart totally this is the 4th game of the season and right now I would say .500 looks good to chillicothe right now.

Long time reader, first time poster.

"ERRONEOUSLY declared ineligible by the new administration in the middle of 2-a-days" is not how it played out. I have friends on both the coaching staff and in administration so I tend to believe their account. OHSAA ruled him ineligible and the initial appeal was not successful. After the administration appealed to the commissioner, it was then that he was declared eligible. Now, I am sure that it was the administration that sent it to OHSAA orginally but that is what they are supposed to do. Would you rather forfit games? An earlier poster mentioned divorced parents, etc. and this is correct. Sounded like a real mess but glad the young man gets a chance to play his senior year.

From talking to some friends at Amanda, the blaming administration is not a new story for Hinton. I am sure coach Hinton likes to control everything possible but there are guidelines at every school that must be followed. Again, from those I know in the district and the program, this is greatly overblown. And if you have paid any attention to postings on here on other topics, you will know that Chillicothe may be the biggest gossip town in southeast Ohio. Let's just root on this young Cavs team!!! I think the future is very bright and look forward to watching this team progress.
