Re: PEEBLES VS. VALLEY
Valley will have the best player in "yates" and yes I know about the seaman and justice kids with all the points, but I have seen that yates kid do some incredible stuff on the court which normal people should not be able to do....with that being said I believe peebles has the better team overall and a better coaching staff, so I will say peebles 62- valley 54 IMO.

I dont think people pick on the SOC 2. That league is good almost every year.
I have to admit that if your not familiar with the SHL than the Peebles schedule looks very soft. For comparison purposes I would say that Eastern Brown and Ripley are very comparable to Valley. Manchester, Whiteoak, and Fairfield are comparable to South Webster. Fayetteville and Lynchburg would be comparable to a Green or Clay - maybe better. West Union would be siimiliar to a Portsmouth West, East, Western. North Adams would be comparable to Northwest.
Good Wins = Zane Trace (N), SouthPoint (H), Eastern Brown (H), Ripley (A), Manchester (A)
Ok Wins = North Adams (3x), Fairfield (2x), Whiteoak (2x)
Weak Wins = Southeastern, Paint Valley, West Union (2x), Fayetteville (2x), Lynchburg, Green,
Decent Loss = Manchester (H) by 3
Re: PEEBLES VS. VALLEY
Does strength of schedule really matter, no. Sure, Valley played a little tougher schedule than Peebles but does it really matter. Portsmouth said the same thing about Valley and look what happened. Its tournament time, regular season doesnt mean anything anymore. All you have to do is put together one game at a time. Peebles is a very good team regardless of schedule. They may have lost a couple more in the SOC, but still would have been top two IMO. Peebles is deserving of what they have accomplished just as Valley is. Should be a great game, I know i will be there for this one. Good luck to both teams.

Peebles is a really good team, but I am going to go with the Valley Indians in this one. I would love to make it to this game to watch the Justice/Seaman and Yates/Utley matchups. Should be a great game to watch.

Re: PEEBLES VS. VALLEY
I have officiated both of these teams. I believe they are teams that mirror each other. They both look for scoring from there two guards-(Valley) Yates and Utley, (Peebles) Seaman and Justice- They both rebound extremely well for there size!! The winner of this game is the team who shoots the best percentage from the floor, offensive rebounds and put backs will determine the winner of this game!!!! I believe this will be one heck of a game!!!!!!!!

Yates is also one of the best in SEO. I'm not sure if he is as good a shooter as Justice, but everything else is just as good and Yates is probably a little better than both at getting to the rim under control IMHO.

All we heard all week before Portsmouth was "Portsmouth big" "Portsmouth by 15+" "Portsmouth is more athletic" etc...
Re: PEEBLES VS. VALLEY
Yates is very much an Evan Turner type player on this level of HS basketball and for the Indians. He scores around 20 a game, he's the best rebounder (10-12 a game), best passer (5-7 apg), and has to lead the team in blocked shots. He always has the ball in his hands and he sets everything else up, so he will turn the ball over some too. But most of Yates damage is done inside of 15 feet, with the occasional 3 thrown in the mix. Utley is a better scorer... He shoots much better from 3 (excellent spot up shooter) and he has the knack for driving and getting to the foul line. He's also hit some very big shots this season, and he's been much better defensively the last few weeks. And last week he didn't force anything, worked to get open, and let the game come to him very well. I seen a total team effort and some gutsy performances of Friday night. I also agree with crab_apple4 that the Indians will benefit from having Dwyer's athleticism back in the lineup. And being able to substitute size for Coleman who is battling an ankle injury and played a ton of tough minutes last Friday while not being 100%. I'm really anxious to see how the Keller boys and Webb do defensively against Justice and Seaman. You don't get much scoring at all from those boys except Luke on occasion, but they absolutely drove Portsmouth's guards crazy and caused them to lose their composure. Tyler and Johnny are both very quick with their hips and both read passing lanes very well. Luke seems to always get his hands on the ball, especially when he's been at the front of the press. I'm looking forward to next Monday night, and keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get called into work.

Should be a very good game. IMO these teams closely resemble each other with the slight height advantage going to Valley. The tallest players that will probably see time in this game for Peebles is 6'2" Andrew Seaman and 6'2"-6'3" Blake Justice. The Tribe have completely shut down some larger teams in the post by just by giving out that extra effort(Exp. Zane Trace, South Point, Fairfield). Andrew and the rest of the seniors will not go down without a fight.
Re: PEEBLES VS. VALLEY
I agree Tribemaniac! I think this will be a great game. I don't see anyway that this game doesn't go down to the wire.
