Go Indians!! Peebles that is! I look for a very intense game that might go into overtime. If it does, the team that is not, I repeat, NOT in foul trouble will be victorious. I hope the refs don't try to control the tempo of the game by calling tons of fouls! If each team is allowed to play ball instead of a whistle blowing every minute then I see Peebles hangin on by a thread. IMO Peebles by 4.
Oh, Bo_Diaz, I really liked when you caught for the Reds back in the middle 80's!

I have seen both players and I am not so sure that Yates is better than Justice. Justice is by far the better shooter, Yates has his upsides as well like rebounding. I would say that Justice is the better player at this point, but I think Yates has the most room to get better. He is very athletic and may still grow a little. Both players have a bright future at the next level.

Should be a great game. Two similar teams that I could see coming down to the wire. This is what tournament play is all about. It will be about the best "team" not the best player come Monday night. I think Peebles has the better team at this point, but dont count Valley out. They are very scrappy and will play for 4 quarters, just ask Portsmouth.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't care who wins. I just hope this will stay close. I think this is going to be a great game. Valley is long, athletic and very unselfish. They could be the best passing team in the area. Fun to watch.

Peebles, is a little more predictable, but have two studs with Justice and Seaman. I think the it's going to be a great match up.

While I'm throwing my opinion around. I think it is a very bold statement to say Yates will be the best player on the floor. He will be the best sophomore on the floor for sure! Someone else stated he is a Evan Turner like player. I totally agree. He's not the pure scorer that Justice is and he's not as quick as Seaman. But he is the best sophomore I've seen by far this year. I can't wait to see this game!!

LOL this thread is getting over the top here, personally I have seen all these players and to say one is better than the other dont think I could, Yates is a fine player and one of the better sophs in the area but to throw Evan Turners name into the mix lol sorry dont see that, Justice top 3 player in the state he is a fine player but dont see that either maybe top 3 in southern oh D3, people take off those blinders there is a lot of talent out there get out and watch some other teams!!!!!!!!!

IMO I agree with you about it being a very intense game and love it when the refs don't control the game, but I don't think that's the style of game that will be to the best advantage for the Peebles Indians. It seems to me that they like and play better in a controlled ballgame where the tempo is slowed down a little. I know for sure the fans like a foul called when their guards are being closley guarded LOL  myself included.
I will take the Indians of Peebles always and in this game by 8.

Talk about taking quotes out of context... The point was Yates has the overall game that produces in all areas, much like Turner. In no way was he being compared to Turner on a talent level. But his numbers and what he brings to his team are much like Turner.

*And of course its not the same level, but you figure that people could figure these things out without having to qualify your statements.

Sorry I lol it just struck me funny to bring one of the top college players into the mix talking about a soph in high school! Wait dont tell me you think Bo Diaz was the next coming of Johnny Bench lol way to funny.
When I watched Ohio State last night the first thing I thought of when I saw Turner with the basketball was omg he plays exactly like the kid from Valley lmao I told my friend watch when he climbs up over someone for a board doesnt that look just like him and when he slams it wow its uncanny they could be twins. Stop it your killing me

What??

What they are saying is that Yates does everything for Valley ala Turner for OSU. He rebounds, assists, blocks and scores.

No one was comparing him on talent level to Evan Turner, it's killing me    you even read it that way. Anyone who knows about basketball knows what the orginal poster who made that statement meant.

I understand just pulling his chain coop, seeing how far I could get him to freak. I mean we could sit here all day and say wow Utely or Justice shoots threes so does deibler hey they bring the same thing to the table for our team isnt that cool, or London blocks shots hey so does Lauderdale wow they bring the same thing to their team, it just sounded silly to me is all so I decided to have some fun with him.
I know we can start a thread about what players on your teams do the same things as a college player does for his team wouldnt that be Irrelevant!!!!

Yates and Utley just need to play their games and valley should be just fine.

Yes and thats exactly where they had you too...don't expect Peebles to let you back in the game if they get up like that. Peebles knows how to finish games. I'd count your blessings that your in this game before you start running your mouth.

That's why they play 32 mintues buddy. I don't know where you get that Coop was running his mouth by repeating what was said on last week's thread. Valley has won several games (South Point, Washington Courthouse, Huntington, Greenup County, and Portsmouth) where they trailed by 10+ points in the 4th quarter. They know how to come from behind and they never let up. Question...If Peebles is such a great team at closing out games, what happened to the 8 point lead against Manchester?

I have to say this: If I was allowed/shot the ball 25-30 times a game like Justice does then I would score say 1500 pts. so far in my career. This young man shoots as much as any player I have ever seen!!!! I think the Seaman kid is a better shooter than Justice, he just doesn't get to shoot as much. Those of you who have the stats of these two please look up shots taken from floor and shots made???? Post them please!!! Then look up how many threes they both shoot and how many made????? I'm not trying to dog either of these kids, just posting facts-Please someone post stats????????

If I were a betting man I would bet that you'll never see those stats posted. I and others have said the same thing all year. The shots attempted and the ones made would have to show a wide spread. There have been several players I can think of that would have many more points in the score books (past and present) if they were given the green light.

The only one that posts stats on here are jchitwood and tribemaniac and they have been keeping a low profile the last several days.

johndeere, Justice shoots around 30% from 3-point line and Seamen is more like 50%. You are right that Justice shoots way more which may make the difference.

Peebles always finishes strong, Manchester was the lone exception on the year. Peebles outplayed Manchester for 3 quarters but failed to convert in the most important of the four. The Indians went too one diminsional on offense and Manchester stepped up and capitalized. Peebles always plays hard in the second half and their 19-1(SHL champions, Sectional Champions, ranked 7th in the state) season shows that. As for keeping the low profile the last few weeks, going to school full time will do that to you. Blake and Andrew are both extremely talented players and I hope they put it on Valley monday. :122249

Valley has an explosive team that can score in bunches. If Peebles wins this game it will be because they are able to hold off Valley's "runs". I really think Valley has a very balanced team and they have two kids who can put them on their back and carry them at any given time. In the tournament, that makes for a tough out. I think its obvious that Peebles also has two kids who can do the same. I don't see this game as being a blowout and anyone who runs theiir mouth stating its going to be a blowout is just talking from their heart and not based on their basketball IQ.

Good luck Valley!!! Go SOC!!!
