Re: Piketon vs. Chesapeake
I have seen Piketon and Chesapeake play. I'm not so sure that an uptempo game really plays that much into the hands of THE STREAKS. Peake runs the floor really well. Even though they may be bigger. This one is gonna be too close to call until after the final buzzer IMO. Foul trouble, turnovers and who has the hottest hand should be the deciding factor just like all the games i've seen in the sectional. Just my opinion but may be the best game of the districts in Athens! Good luck to both teams and coaches! Throw out the stats and lets get busy!
Re: Piketon vs. Chesapeake
Have to agree OVC fan. We played Peake last year and they liked to get out and go. Hintz can run all day long. I think this will be very close with Peake's size giving them the edge. 58-55 Peake.
Re: Piketon vs. Chesapeake
Just out of curiosity....can somebody post the size of Piketon's starting five? I keep reading about Peake being bigger but i really cant remember that much about the Streaks cause its been a while. Just wondering what the matchups will be like. Here;s Peake to the best of my knowledge.
PG-Hintz 5'7"
SG-Copley 6'1 or 6'2
SG-McMaster 6'4
PF-Saunders 6'1
PF-Kennedy 6'7

Gotta go with the Streaks in this one, peake solid team though but Piketon to much:
Streaks 63 - Peake 55
Streaks 63 - Peake 55
Re: Piketon vs. Chesapeake
If I'm correct, Piketon goes something like this:
-Brush 6'6"
-Legg 6'2"
-Helton 6'0"
-Lewis 5'10"
-Vulgamore 5'9"
Won't be at the game, but will be cheering for the Streaks.

Tickets are on sale at Piketon High School, $6 a ticket and the athletic department gets 25% of each one sold. Lets Go Streaks!

Why must every thread turn out to say bad things about individual players? This is a TEAM sport. Kennedy started the season learning how to adjust to the style of ball the Peake plays, He hit a stretch of 5 or 6 games where he was VERY good. He is due. Even though the last few games he hasnt put up a lot of points he still shuts down the middle and a lot of guards are shut down trying to penetrate. If he stays out of foul trouble he AND the team will be fine. Seeing that you are from Pointer Country I can see where you might not support a fellow team from the OVC. Oh well, GO PEAKE.

Even if southworth does come back.. How much could he help after missing so much playing time? IMO not very much.. Peake by 17..

All I can say...is don't underestimate Piketon...I hear you Chesapeake fans and band wagon posters....I believe Chesapeake is a good team and played a good schedule. I'm telling you they will be facing some battle tested young men, that will not back down from size or anything else. The most dangerous teams in the tournament is the underdog...

Re: Piketon vs. Chesapeake
With "Beaver" Eastern falling last night it's up to Piketon and Waverly to represent Pike County at the convo.
Piketon is very capable of winning this game. It should be a war with the winner of the turnover battle coming out on top. Waverly beat the Peake at the convo earlier in the year before knocking off the Streaks at home in the Holiday Classic. Based on those two games and Piketon's tougher schedule I would give the nod to the Streaks.
I've only said it once in my life but, HERE COME THE STREAKS!
