a lot of so called " they just chose to come here to play because of our success"... well heck, I sure dont think I would send my child to Oak HIll. Yes, they have had some limited success, but it's all a name game when it comes to rankings. Have a lil success, win them all during a weak regular season schedule or a loss or two, and you get the high ranking from the ap NODSTERS. We see it in every sport because quite a few of those voters pay absolutely no attention to what is going on year round and how a team has fared, up and down, round and round(total team performance consistiency each week). They refer to final appearances by the schools and a championship or two and you get the AP high ranking. It is such a mess, and the last place I would look. Actually I only look in football/basketball/baseball, to see whom they have decided are the players and coaches of the year in each region then ALL-STATE, which usually makes sense.
Oak hill is obviously good for their region and area outside of the league, within the region, I just think they get overrated each year. A few good seasons is all that these silly voters remember, and they probably have to look that up. I am proud of OAK HILL and when they go onto rep southern ohio, but i definitely feel they get the AP vote out of their past accomplishments!! You know what I mean, when they actually had championship runs, the other years, even undefeated; such as this year, all it took was a focused team to play defense to knock them off. I just strongly feel they get overrated in the polls. Just as many say I town does in football because of the playoff success... If you listened to the game of the Ironton Lady Tigers against tje Oak hill ladies, it was a sloppy mess. Something I town has to overcome on the turnover situation to compete with these final other three teams!!! I know nothing of middleton madison, ranked first, second, tenth, or fiftieth.... I know if Ironton plays with the same tenacity as the did against the Lady Oaks they have a legitmate shot of giving MIID/MAD a challenging game... Outside of that, they were playing aggressively and handled the lady oaksters at the foul line and on rebounds, and a few treys... good luck to both on next season, prove me wrong OAKS on the overrating.... And shock the division Ironton fighting lady tigers... YES U CAN!!!

I was pulling for Ironton, but after you post, and you have that right, why belittle the oak Hill Girls so bad? They did beat you at your place, which is no small feat. I am rooting for whoever plays Ironton....Maybe they are just over rated..........I sure am glad you keep you kid where you are at, but you sure are missing out on a excellant education possibilities there.
I'm sure oak hill has the new recruits already in line for years to come.[/quote]
I am sure they will have to compete with South Webster. You are amusing there swanker. haven't heard that before. It's about time to let that one go. Is that what you all did a few years back with the boys team? See how stupid that really is. So soon we forget. We got beat by the better team that day, nothing more , nothing less. I have seen people post good luck to the Oaks, now they jump on the band wagon to belittle them. That's OK. You have to face us again next year, and the hate can start over again. It is sad in many ways to see some of the crap that us adults write on here. We think we are being funny and post negative remarks about different team. But remember these are just teenagers. Don't take away some of the best times they will have in their lives. and don't try to live your kids lives for them. It is great to support your team. You don't see that up North and in the cities in around the state. As far as kids wanting to go to other schools, that is up to them and their parents. There are so many school districts that are in money trouble and the sports programs are being cut ot pay to play. Some schools have trouble getting the number of kids out to play. If you do everything that you have to do to transfer a kid to another district and do it by the rules, I have no problem with them transfering.I bet their isn't a district in our area that has not had a transfer. It doesn't have to be just to play sports, it may be that the parents think another district has a better educational program. Enough said. I have already wasted enough time on a very stupid subject in the first place!!!!!

I'm gonna go ahead and say it. Swanker Pine is an idiot. He pretends to be a good poster but every chance he gets he bashes the Oaks. I don't know how old you are but you need to grow up. Jealousy will get you nowhere in this world.

That's the problem. People don't do it by the rules. For instance if someone has an address in Oak Hill, but never stays at that address and continues to live in their same house in another school district, that is CHEATING! I agree if a parent wants their kid to go somewhere else that is their right, but have enough moral values to do it the right way. What are parents teaching their kids when you intentionally break the rules?

AndyD This is some more of my post you didn't include. Maybe we sometimes look at things and see what we want. I am not from Oak Hill, but a huge fan of theirs. If the shoe was on the other foot, if these girls had wanted to come to your school for sports or a for educational choices you school may offer, nothing would be said. How would you like it if someone told you where you are allowed to send your kids if you have children? Sometimes people only want to believe what they want because their is no fun in spreading the truth. I am not trying to argue with you. You are entilted to your own opinion, but please make sure you have the facts straight before you post things that are not true. Thanks
Was at the State Tourney today and a couple of thoughts:
1. Ironton represented very well
2. Heard Malott of Madison was being recruited by UConn - nice player but.....UConn?
3. Heard Diulas (sp?) was taking his show to a small D4 school in Northeast Ohio (I think it was Ridgeville Christian or something close to that). The man I talked to was from Margaretta and he said he spoke to a Board member from the school and the Board member told him to come to his school soon and see the State Championship banners that will be there.
