I don't have a dog in the fight either and yes, it would have been good had it been avoided but for whatever reason it wasn't. Just sad that kids were done wrong as a result.

Seaman and Justice would be First Team for sure.

How are these kids picked for these lists? Do their coaches nominate who they believe deserves the recognition? And then do all the other coaches vote on it? Just curious.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame the "voting coaches". I have seen nothing (and I doubt anyone else has either) that says that is how and why the coaches voted as they did. Some of you are basing your complaints solely on conjecture by EAGLEGRAD in his post. I am sure he was only GUESSING that that MIGHT be the reason the voting went the way it did.
He was just giving his OPINION on how and why it went that way.
I would say some of you are UNFAIRLY placing blame without knowing the true facts. :(

Posts: 73 I would say that the reason Justice and Seaman slipped to second and third team in the coaches poll was because some coaches were probably upset about what happened there. The Peebles coach did not get paperwork in on time and by rule the Peebles players should not have been able to be on a district team at all. The Peebles coach pleaded his case and the coaches had to take a vote on whether to make the exception this one time. There were a number of coaches who were against making the exception because it was unfair to the teams left out in the past because of this rule. I would say that it made some difference on the voting.

There are rules, sadly most of us on this web site don't know them. I don't know them either. When are the dues required to be in? Is it a post mark date? Is it in the office? What is the date? When did the Peebles paperwork arrive? Was the money kept or returned? Does the association still have the Peebles coaches money? What was the argument given by the Peebles coach that there was enough votes from belonging members that they believed him enough to allow the 2 players in? I wish we all had the information as it was presented and then we could get off this subject and move on. The outcome will not change for the players but maybe everyone can get over it and move on. Oh by the way, yes I am a Peebles fan if you were wondering.

Big Orange One, I hadn't even read the post by Eagle grad. I think it's pretty obvious. Anyone who has watched basketball at all this year and hasn't been living under a rock would likely come to the conclusion that Justice and Seaman were more deserving of the honors they didn't receive.

Golly gee whiz BigOrangeOne thanks for explaining and highlighting that for us. I'm not sure we would have understood that without your help! :aaaaa46
