Re: 2010 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes!!
Nelsonville will be tough next season with the Jr group finally maturing. This has the potential to be one of those every ten years groups. With the meatgrinder non league schedule they have, they will be battle tested come playoff time. If they can get 8 wins they will be in for sure, maybe with the right 7. I would not want to be the first round playoff opponent of Nelsonville if they do infact get in.

Re: 2010 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes!!
I think NY has a tough schedule. I get why NY beefs up their schedule. They have had that sour taste in their mouth for the last few years now when they get in, and lose the first round, and I am not knocking any coaches decisions or anything of that matter. However, it disappoints me that they play schools that are so far away. Newark Catholic, Ready, and Clairsville are all schools that do not pertain to the area. One of these games might be appropriate. However, I think there are schools that are closer that are great games, and would get NY playoff ready. I always felt that Fairfield Union was a great game for NY. I realize that this is far away but it is closer than St. Clairsville. Also, teams like Bloom Carroll, Logan, Warren, Crooksville, New Lexington, Sheridan, and any of the MVL teams would be a better fit for NY and the area. I realize there is schedule complications when scheduling, but I feel there are a huge list of better games.
I want to overemphasize, these are just my personal opinions.

We played Fairfield Union and got our fill of them. I don't see us scheduling them again.
We would kick the crap out of Bloom Carrol,
Logan isn't going to schedule a D-5 team seeing how they play in one of the toughest regions in the state and need all the points they can get.
I don't see NY playing Sheridan anytime soon.
We scrimmages New Lex so if either team wanted to play I am sure that discussion has taken place.
We played Crooksville and they beat us and they were near the bottom of the MVL at the time.
I would like to see Warren on the schedule down the road for a home and home.
We have to play teams outside of our area if we want to be successful in the playoffs. We can't keep playing Berne Union every year and think that is going to get us ready for the playoffs. NY is going after teams who are battle tested If we beat Newark Catholic we will get a lot of points, the same goes with Ready and St. Clairsville.
NY has realized that it has to play a tougher schedule and Coach Boston has done a great job scheduling.

O & B I cant believe you are on here bashing kids. You, the bash police, of all people should realize that there are kids on those teams that work just as hard as any other team. Yet here you are on an open forum bashing them as if they are lesser humans because of the quality of team they play on. I say shame on you.

Re: 2010 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes!!
I wasn't trying to bash those kids. Merely pointing out our superiority at Nelsonville - YORK!

Re: 2010 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes!!
Other than St. Clairsville, NY doesn't have any long road trips. Berne Union is like a half hour from Nelsonville and is closer to Nelsonville than Wellston and Vinton County. And of course, Trimble is a back yard game.
Bishop Ready is a home game and I believe only a one year contract. However, you can now drive from Nelsonville to downtown Columbus in one hour, so even a return trip isn't that far away.
Newark Catholic is a home game and will be a longer road trip in 2011, but at the same time, NY won't have the long trip to St. Clairsville in 2011.
So in reality, NY only has one long trip each of the next two seasons -
2010 - St. Clairsville
2011 - Newark Catholic
I think its a good schedule. I would love to see some MVL teams on the schedule, but the fact remains that in the MVL, those teams only get 2 non-league games to schedule and some have their non-league rivalries that they play in those two games. And for the rest, it's a scheduling nightmare to get one of those non-league weeks to matchup with you when you have an opening.
I look for more NY vs. Mid State League games in the future. That is probably going to be easier to schedule than MVL teams since the MVL is so limited on non-league games.

I was just giving an opinion from a fan. I love watching NY play, and I think there is contenders in this area that would get NY ready for the playoffs. I understand that NY only has to travel to one far road game, but they have teams traveling a distance to play them. If I remember correctly, Fairfield Union was a great game for NY. Great games, and I believe Boston's first win ever at NY came from this game. I believe Ny also beat crooksville too somewhere within that contract. Like I said, this is just my opinion.

No one was bashing your post. I understand exactly what you mean, but I also understand that when/if you get deep into the playoffs you got to be prepared for teams outside of our area.

Nice try? I can not believe you are going to try to shrug this off like that. You repeatedly come on here and try to tell people what to post, and rip them when you think they are somehow in your mind bashing kids. Then you come on here and bash kids by saying your team would kick the crap out of their team. Then when you get called out for it you laugh about it. What a joke. I hope no everyone else on here sees through you now that you have shown your true colors. I guess you think maybe you are the only person on here that is allowed to say anything negative. What a joke.
