Re: Waterford vs Harvest Prep- Regional Finals
I would much rather see a sea of Green & White next weekend at the Schott instead of another private school name.

Leave your ignorant posts like this out of this thread. You probably have no ties to either team and more than likely you have only seen Waterford play once and that was Thursday. If you knew anything about Waterford they built their schedule this year for situations like this. Waterford played Parkersburg South(more than likely AAA champion in West Virginia), Marietta, North Canton Hoover, Cincinnati Indian Hills, Parkersburg HS, and a tough Eastern team. They also scrimmaged Oak Hill(who is one of the favorites for the Div 3 title) and Number 2 ranked Div I Tri Valley. They have seen enough competition this year to be ready for anything. Your arrogance is not needed on this thread so why don't you just leave it alone?
Oh and by the way this isn't the first time these teams have squared off in a sport before. Harvest Prep played Waterford in football for about 5 years and took a fare share of beatings from the men in green. If my memory serves me correct Dan Doebriner had something like 230 yards on the ground against HP and Jason Sampson's junior year he had 5 total touchdown against HP. HP beat Waterford once and dropped them from the schedule because they were too embarrassed to play a little school from no where and get beat every year.

Re: Waterford vs Harvest Prep- Regional Finals
steely dan, I loved your post. Harvest Prep is a "controlled" DIV school. They built absolutely nothing whatsoever from the bottom up-they bring in athletes. They can be any division they want; can decide who to bring in from wherever they want; if they need a point guard, they can go get one, etc. If the OHHSAA pretends not to see the advantages schools such as Harvest Prep have, then they are in serious need of vision help from a professional. Obviously, their vision was restored at least to a partial extent regarding Regina. Hopefully, they will not relapse for the next decade or so.
After visiting their school in the past, the Rev. Rod has obviously been successful in raising monies. I am curious as to how in the world they could possibly have money issues.
Go Waterford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steely Dan, somehow I just knew that Rev. Rod would raise the jack. He has made a career of it.

I get deluged every week of the year from every philanthropic organization under the sun (got one from the Red Cross yesterday). Jerry's kids, breast cancer awareness, and the list goes on and no one says a thing about it, but let a man stand for the Word of God, and a local church rise up to proclaim it, and the same crowd that wouldnt get off their death bed to darken the doors will rant and rave about how they go about their business. But God has always had a people......
Amen! Well said!

I'm not casting stones at Christianity or the Church, just those who hide behind the pulpit with questionable motives. That's all.

Great season for the Lady Cats. Too bad your defense couldn't stop that 30 foot three pointer to stop the tie at regulation.
Keep your heads up, you've had a great season, and a great four years for the seniors. Hard to compete against a basketball U. Thought that D IV had rid themselves of that with Africentric moving up to DIII, but guess that wasn't the case.
Good luck to Sina as she moves on to DI college ball, and good luck to the rest of the seniors.

Congrats to the Waterford Girls team. You have nothing to hang your heads about. You took a team that some ill informed posters that said would beat you by as many as they wanted, to the limit. You are all winner's and have been a true repersentive of Southeastern Ohio small school girls basketball. The schools in our area are often overlooked for the more big name schools. But you showed them. Hope for the best to all the team member's in what ever path in life they choose.

Re: Waterford vs Harvest Prep- Regional Finals
It was more than giving that team all they wanted and more...I really believe Waterford dominated the game for about the first 31 minutes, although the lead was never more than 6 or so. And it almost seemed like they ran out of gas in the OT--lots of shots that were left short.
It really was an unbelieveable shot by Shicole Watts...all of 25 feet, and nothing but the bottom of the net with 5 seconds left--she finished with 23, 14 of which were in the 4th quarter and overtime.
Sina King finishes her HS career with 31--congrats and good luck at Akron.
Harvest Prep gets Fort Loramie in the state semis.

An excellent game by an excellent group of young ladies! Probably the best game I've ever seen them execute. Congratulations on a fantastic season!! Yet another year of proving many people wrong and proving that a number on a poll is irrelevant. You've represented your school and proud community well. To the six seniors: you've been a pleasure to watch for four years and your experience as a Lady Cat will serve you well. And to our favorite senior Lauren, we love you very much and are so very proud of the young woman you've become. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments!!
