Waverly Baseball - 2010

Post by toast »

Should be another good season as Waverly defends their SOC 2 Championship they shared with Wheelersburg. Who's playing 1st and SS for the Tigers this year? Solid pitching, 2nd & 3rd base and the entire outfield return.......Go Tigers!

toast-Martin will be moving to SS no doubt about that one, as far as 1st goes I would bet on seeing Nick Moore, but there are a few others that could compete for the starting position at 1st.

smurray,

They played Piketon tonight and won 8-2. French pitched a really nice game for the Tigers tonight.

Good win for Waverly tonight against a good Adena squad. Waverly played hard until the end when Howard came up with a clutch home run in the bottom of the 6th to go up by one. Underwood and Tackett combined for an excellent performance on the hill as well. Great game for the Tigers! Time for the 'Burg tomorrow!

Waverly is a very well coached ball club. There are not many holes in the line up. As a coach, you can not relax. French did a nice job keeping Piketon off balanced and pounded the strike zone. Waverly will be a force in SOC II and in SE District.

Waverly picks up two wins today winning the Pike County Tournament. Wins over Eastern and Piketon, P. Underwood and Deweese picking up the wins.

P. Underwood had a no-no until the very last out. Broken up in the 5th with 2 outs. (Score was 17-0 at that point.) Heck of a performance for the freshman's first varsity start.
