All depends on the new coach my friend.
again the rockets have a strong schedule and a strong team so we'll see.
i really like the backfield the rockets have this year in miller praters osbourn should be nice to watch.

I agree also but I hope the new coach figures away out how to use them all! Also don't forget about Timmy Ervin and maybe Trenton Jayjon if he comes back out to play this year!
Re: Wellston Football 2010
Coach Queen was a run oriented coach. He did very well when VC had the big boys up front and great backs. Thats exactly what Wellston has now. Queen may not be named Phillips...but I think he would do a heck of a job down there with the makup of the team. imo.

Re: Wellston Football 2010
has to be better then what they have had the past few years.... sorry coach but as a loyale wellston fan that go's to every game atleast home games then jackson and vinton away it has been bad.
Re: Wellston Football 2010
wellstonrockets Ill agree with you these last few yrs. have been bad! I think this season the rockets should run a triple option type offense with Prater at Qb, Osbourn Rb, Ervin rb, and Miller Fb and with a line that has to replace a lot it could take a load off the boys up front!

Re: Wellston Football 2010
Do you not have to block if you run the triple option? Are the Rockets not going to have much up front next year?
Re: Wellston Football 2010
bythenumbers, i didn't say that! what i mean is if you have a line that doesnt have much experience or is undersized kinda like what navy had this yr. when they almost beat ohio state, you use the option to keep a team thinking and it helps your line to out cause the plays are simple! they have two returning offensive lineman Stever Carper and Jeremiah Kerr!

Re: Wellston Football 2010
I thought last year our line would be solid ,but it didnt work out that way. This year will be a undersized and inexperienced line .
Re: Wellston Football 2010
A football team will only go as far as their line can block. The league will have a bunch of teams with young lines...so it could be interesting!
Re: Wellston Football 2010
Thats very true Athens I know for sure lost a lot up front! A lot of skill players return for every team and not too many line! Looks like a fun season is on the horizon!
Re: Wellston Football 2010
Athens lost a lot up front..Wellston lost a lot up front..Alex/Meigs ??..NY lost their best running back..VC lost its go to guy (Grillo)..and the entire TVC Ohio lost its sure win over Belpre!

goldenboy i really wouldnt say under sized? carper and kerr are some big boys then you throw Big jake in the mix with andrew richards and tyler brown a.k.a suga thats a good line.
Re: Wellston Football 2010
I use to wear a Wellston hat to show my support back in the mid 90's. Haven't liked a decision they have made since then, so I quit wearing it.

You must not know me? Do some digging from back in the mid 90's and you may be able to figure out why I no longer show my support. Nice guess though, but it is wrong.
Re: Wellston Football 2010
Dynamo, who cares how bad they have been or what happened in the past you still should support them. Thats what a wrong with this town not enough support and too much negativity!
