Weakley from northwest should be in the top 2 or 3 discus throwers this year, last year he fought an injury all season long and now he's back healthy and I look for him to do really well this year

Stegmans on the baseball team, can you do both track and baseball at Wheelersburg? or just pull him into high jump every now and then 4 big meets to pick up a few more points like previouse years
Re: SOC Boys Track and Field Who are the Favorites in each event
Andy Stegman is not on the baseball team, just on the track team.

Re: SOC Boys Track and Field Who are the Favorites in each event
u cnt forget abt the freshman thrower from nd last yr. ive watched him at one meet an he was hitting upwards of 140 in warmups but struggled in the competition an only landed a 119' 7" but i look for him to put up big numbers at soc. possibly win it as a sophmore if he can beat the valley boys who hit the 135.

Re: SOC Boys Track and Field Who are the Favorites in each event
I don't look for any school in the SOC or district to beat Minfords 4x100 team. They have a good shot at regionals.
I also think people are overlooking Piquet from Minford in the 100 meter dash. Right now second to Cragmiles (burg) by a fraction of a second.
No one in the SOC should beat Butcher from Minford in the 400 meter dash either this year the way he is running and last years 400 meter SOC champ.

Re: SOC Boys Track and Field Who are the Favorites in each event
In regards to the 100, Jacob "JP" Piguet from Minford ran a 10.92 at West eariler this month and was beat by a fraction of a second by the kid from PHS. Piguet tied Minford's record held by Johnn Berry (1968) as it was round to 11 flat, and he's just a Jr. He won the 195lbs class divisions 1-3 in Kenton, OH in March with lifts totaling over 1300 lbs., and now is sprinting with the elite in the county. This is a kid to watch.
I say, in no order, Craigmiles (WB), Piguet (M), Shupert (PW), Stewart (PW) are the ones to watch in the 100.

That would have been Royster of Portsmouth --he ran a 10.80
Re: SOC Boys Track and Field Who are the Favorites in each event
just keep in mind that the wind that night was very strong and to the back of all the runners going west to east.
