Why would Chesapeake look at adding soccer?
I can't understand why a small school like Chesapeake would consider adding soccer. The school doesn't have enough male students to have a soccer team, I do believe that a girls team is a great idea, but not a boys team. Who is behind this idea?

I would guess they are probably looking to start a coed team. A lot of smaller schools do this when they don't have the numbers.

Maybe they have enough kids that want to play soccer.

Chesapeake had a soccer team last year. Granted it was only junior high but they had one. Might want to look in the trophy case at the soccer ball in there. It was used in the first game played at the stadium in Chesapeake, I think it was against St Joe. This team was a coed team.

This is a power play by our county commissioner and a couple of board memebers thinking their child can go to college and play soccer

Maybe they have one of those "light in the loafers", politically correct administrators that loves the sport of terrorist nations!

They have had soccer for years at the biddy League and Junior High level. why not let those kids continue into high school?

Look at the bright side of this, maybe they will find a a kid that can kick extra points and field goals!

I agree. And this program will generally reach kids that are not taking part in another fall sport.
