Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
Lima Central Catholic beat Plymouth this evening 56-54. The Peake will have a better chance playing the northwest regional winner this year and let Cincinnati Taft or Orrville from the southwest and northeast regions beat each other up in the other semi-final.
(I'm going on the assumption that Taft beat Col. Bishop Ready tonight and Orrville beat Newton Falls, I haven't heard their scores but figure this is the way it will turn out).

No, Bishop Ready won. You can read the story on the Cincinnati Enquirer website. Orrville did win. That school is just a tough sports school.

That is truly an upset with the athletes Taft has but you know how those catholic schools tend to play come tournament or playoff time. At this point in time, all the top 10 big boys (regular season polls)are gone so it is a wide open state tournament in DIII. Orrville, Ready and LCC have been there before. This should be interesting.

They play the first game of the whole tournament, Thursday 03/25, 10:45 am. If they win that, they play at the same time Saturday 03/27, 10:45 am.

They are obviously good, but does anyone know anything about Lima's style of play.

Has there ever been a state tourny where none of the AP top 10 succeded in making a showing?

Orrville in the big show does not suprise me at all. They play tougher competition during the regular season than almost any other D3 school.
Re: Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
LCC has knocked off some VERY good teams during their tourney run, including #1 Liberty Benton. This is gonna be a very tough matchup for Peake. Good Luck!!!

Pic of their team and their schedule with who they played....couple of big kids on there. #23 and #30 look like they can bench 400 lbs. Haha. Maybe Peake can outrun them though.

Re: Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
All I can say is SOUTHERN Ohio has been "Well Represented" this year in Hoops! Both Ironton boys and girls had a very successful tourny play, Oak Hill boys as well as Oak Hill Lady Oaks, Miami Trace girls, The Panthers of Chesapeake, and the Bobcats of OU! It seems the Head Honchos in Columbus tend to forget the ones from the south!!! Well hello Hank, you better realize what ya got down here. It seems you get south of Chillocothe, we don't get the regonition that we deserve!
Congrats SOUTHEAST district for rattling OHSAA's doors and waking ole "Z" up there in Columbus. Not that it will help, but NICE JOB!!!!

Hard to believe Cincinnati Taft is out.
I was really scared of a future matchup with them.
