Never seen Chesapeake play but from what I hear, they can shoot the basketball and have some pretty skilled big men. That being said, I have seen LCC play a few times and im not so sure that you will want to pressure the ball against them in man to man.

Then they can run the picket fence and have either Copley or McMaster shoot it coming off the top of the key to win the game. Make sure Shooter is there and drunk! Its almost basketball 30.

From someone who was in a similar situation a few years ago the Chesapeake team of this year does not need a tape measure or any other gimmicks. They just need to trust themselves and Coach Davis and do what they have done all season. From the North Adams Basketball Family we wish the Panthers the best and to Ryan a close friend, nice job and go ahead and win it.

Peter Hintz is quicker than a hiccup. What I meant more by pressure is don't let them just walk the ball up the court and set up their offense. Also utilize the trap because the Peake have the speed to get back on D if the trap is broken.

No I don't think they need a gimmick either. I just loved that scene from Hoosiers.

Regardless of what happens thursday I will never forget how it felt when the Peake won. Even though its been 20 years since I graduated you never lose that school spirit. When Coach Persin left and P.J. Rase graduated I got the feeling that the trip to Columbus was never coming. Then debacle over the coach that succeeded Persin, and then quit on his team. (If not for Cannonball taking over that season they probably wouldn't have won as many games as they did.) I still blame a former superintendent for giving his buddy the job and not interviewing Cannonball. That is the pass though. Coach Davis has done a remarkable job in three years to bringing the Peake back to being the best or close to it programs in the tri-state area.

I just saw a highlight video of one of their big men 6' 5" Stolly on youtube. He seems to be a spot up shooter who camps out at the three point line. It doesn't seem like he can create his own shot though.

No fancy tricks are needed. Coach Davis do what you've been doing and guys keep playing as hard as you have, good things will happen. As they say out on Big Branch, "dance with the one that brung ya." LOL

earp wrote:You also have to remember too that the LCC kids have never played there either so I think that could be a factor over there as well! When was the last time LCC was in Columbus?Probably mid 80s I am guessing??I am thinking that maybe Wheelersburg played them at state once? Not sure :?:

Coach Seggerson of LCC just got his 500th win this season, and has led LCC to the state tournament 6 times, all since 1989. However, none of that has to do with this year's squads, as none of them have ever played at OSU before. At least LCC has not made the state tournament in the last 4 years.

And the football thing was just to show that I don't think having a size advantage will matter too much against their guards due to their toughness. I could be way off as I'm not the most familiar with them, but that's just my judgement from the few times I was able to see them.

Has any ovc team ever won a state title? The only state title that I know of is Chris Damron from rock hill..It was in track as a high jumper...
