Porsmouth will definitely have a strong team this year, and has proven themselves this summer...KUDOS to all the staff and the vital support for the program...Would love to see them get to play a regular season game against our Redstreaks, but don't see it happening...but both teams have gotten to play a lot against each other, and I look forward to the upcoming season for both squads...both stand to make some noise in the tourney! Good Luck to the Trojans and thanks for positive words for the Redstreaks, TrojanDave!

Coach Kelley

I got to see all the summer games we played against the RedStreaks, there was some GREAT battles and I loved everyone of them games.

Piketon has a great team with some great talent.

I seen as the team walked into Shawnee state one evening, Legg and Bendolph waked by one another and just l;ooked at each other with a little grin shaking their heads like "its on"...then shook each others hand and a small hug and on to buisness...LOL....That was one good match up to watch.

good luck to you all.

Coach Kelley: You've got the best of both worlds in high school basketball........the team you coach, Piketon, is primed for another really good season and most likely an SVC title, while your alma mater Ironton will rack up a lot of W's also........both will be playing at the Convo come March.........it would be great to finally see the Trojans playing at the home of "basketball thirty"........it's been 6 long years since we've advanced out of the sectional........by far the longest drought in school history.

Biggdowg....Definitely a lot of respect between the P-village and P-town teams! Great atmosphere, and this summer has taken me back a few years to the battles we use to have and the respect we knew between I-town/P-town back in the day. You're right, there is a lot of respect/battles between the two teams. See, there is a big difference between respect and fear..If you fear, you're already down 20 pts before the game starts...if you respect, well...you smile and say, lets jump it up! That's exactly how those kids feel; and then when it's said and done, they shake hands, and share hugs...that's what is great to see!

Trojan Dave....Would love to see P-village, P-town, and I-town go deep in the tourney this year!

I think this is the year that a state champion will come out of Southeastern Ohio in D-3....I believe it! There will be several tough, battle-tested teams by years' end...and only the strong will survive. As the Trojan alumn-Coach L always preaches to our kids..."The creme always rises to the top"...How can you not love high school basketball????
