One "Hello and Enjoy The Game!"...

Charging for Baseball?...Just Wrong
Makes me think of the Southwest Airlines commercials
"Why do You Charge For Bags?"..."Bags Fly Free!"

So you wouldn't charge to get in at football or basketball games?

Football and Basketball are the 'Money' Sports in High School, not Baseball...

Baseball is supposed to be a nice past time, where old men can bring their youth to enjoy a nice afternoon at the ballpark...

I guess if you wanna charge at the gate, go ahead it is your prerogative but Baseball should be a place where you can enjoy a game, free of charge...to each school their own...

I believe that all varsity sports are charged the same at Wheelersburg. I think is $4 varsity and $3 for a JV contest. Reserve seating for football and boys' basketball is more. But I have not paid to get into a contest for several years.

They don't charge for golf, softball, tennis or swimming due to logistics from how the venues are set up.

True---baseball/softball has never charged. We paid $4 dollars to watch a softball game at Ironton last week. It cost a lot of money to keep the fields going. $1500 dollars for 3 tons of dirt and that didn't cover a fourth of the infield. There is no way a school can pay out $5000-$10,000 a year to pay for the dirt for both the baseball and softball fields every year to keep them the way they should be kept. Most likely either fundraisers or pay at the gate. Schools are just not funded like they use too and cuts have to be made and I'm sure sports will be first in priority.

LOGAN doesn't charge either or at least at the moment. that may change after the new field is opened. but that may not be for the next 10 yrs as slow as thats going. they built to school faster then they're building the baseball & softball fields.
