That's a lot of homeruns for a high school team. Could it be the dimensions of the Burg ballpark?

soccerfix over half of the teams HRs have been away. I would have to say ever year people talk about the size of Burgs field but yet very few teams hit any out (Yes, Roback did but that would have been on any field). Also I think dimensions Waverly's field is smaller than the Burg's or very close.

Wheelersburg's field dimensions are (approximate)
LF 295'
LCF 345' (deepest part of the park)
CF 335' ???
RCF 330' ???
RF 290'
Waverly's more close to a standard ball field I think. Anyone know the dimensions?
Wheelersburg as a team hits alot of HR's every season but nearly half are at away parks. A couple at Zane Trace, Adena, Minford, & Greenup. All these parks are pretty standard distances for HS fields.
I also think Burg's field will become a HR park since they demolished the old HS. Wind frequently blows across the old school grounds and out toward CF or LCF.

Re: Who has your teams home runs?
more reason why we need a high school home run derby half way through the season on a sunday afternoon. take the top 2 homerun hitters from each soc2 school and put them in the spotlight. charge admision and use the money to buy a nice trophy for the winner
Re: Who has your teams home runs?
BULDOG:
I honestly don't think that RF is 290. I'm thinking more on the 275-280 part. Burg hit 2 HR's against Waverly that should've been pop flys. Although I do agree that LCF is around 345. That part is pretty deep.

Re: Who has your teams home runs?
everyone complains about south websters field saying it is small but it is just a little bigger than wheelersburgs. if every field were a cookie cutter field it would be boring playing at differant facilities. you dont hear people moaning about the pesky pole at fenway park, it is part of the game. differant teams have differant field types and thats part of what makes baseball exciting and makes people wonder "what if"

Re: Who has your teams home runs?
In regards to Wheelersburg's dimensions, when I played there were actually signs up. Im pretty sure they read:
LF 310
LCF 345
RCF 320
RF 305
There wasn't anything straight away center, but I would say it's about 330 at the most. But as stated earlier, probably 1/2 of Burg's HRs have been on the road.
