Week 1 - Jackson @ Wellston
Re: Week 1 - Jackson @ Wellston
Some of the blowout posts are a bit over the top, in my opinion. Last year's game was 7-21 with Wellston not exactly having a solid coaching staff (sorry to discredit him, but he was not a good coach). The outcome of the game is not really what should be focused on this year for Wellston. A win would be monumental, of course, having not won in so long and it meaning so much to the community, but this game is more about how Hutch does as head coach of the Rockets. A win says miles, but Wellston looking good and sharp will also be very telling of where he stands as a coach and how he has gotten the team ready.
Overall, Wellston returns some key players as does Jackson. I'd expect another physical game where Jackson capitalizes late on a beat-up and tired Rocket team. However, I think Wellston will suprise those Jackson fans expecting a blowout and look solid in their performance earning respect of both sides of the crowd. To me, and the future of the program, that's what I would be most looking for. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend so I'll be eagerly looking forward to updates.

This game has been going on for many years. The 2 teams 8 mile bus ride $$$$$. Dont see any change in the near future.
Maybe next year the Ironmen could add ou bobcats to the sched????
