Not happening, BUT the Mid State League HAS invited both Logan and Chillicothe to join the MSL ... imo a move to the MSL would be a GREAT move for the Purple ... We will watch how this scenario unfolds in the coming weeks ...
That is interesting to hear. Are there any actual articles/verifiable sources out there regarding this invitation? I am not questioning your word, just want to read into it more. While I am familiar with the league and some of its teams, I am not familiar with the division of the league with it being 24 teams. Are there 3 divisions? If so, what teams belong to what divisions? The following is a breakdown of some 2009 statistics comparing the 2 leagues (based on football).
MSL
Average Division (Football) 3.95833*
Division Average W-L Record: 5W-4.75L*
Number of Playoff Teams: 6 out of 24 league teams made the playoffs
SEOAL
Average Division (Football) 2.875*
Average W-L Record: 5.625W-4.5L*
Number of Playoff Teams: 2 out of 8 league teams made the playoffs
*These are averages.

I used to be a staunch supporter of Logan staying in the SEOAL no matter what. However, as time passes, so does the prime of the league. Schools are going different directions for obvious reasons (politics, finances, enrollment) and it reflects in the overall fluctuation of the league within the past decade. Pfloyd is correct in saying that the OCC will never extend an invite to anything outside of the Columbus "satellite" communities anymore. Although I do believe that there could be a good division established with some of the schools on the south side of the outerbelt, Lancaster, and Logan........but again, never gonna happen. The time has come for Logan to move on. Their legacy has been set in the SEOAL. What else is there to accomplish in the league? The question is, does joining the MSL leave you better off overall in preparing your athletes for elite competition in all sports than staying in the SEOAL. I know that the MSL has some very good teams in basketball and football throughout many of the OHSAA divisions. As for the other sports ??? I will look for an actual thread to open up on this topic soon. I am sure there will be a lot of conversation regarding it.
