Womamma, you are in the Hocking now so, start living up to our standards and dimiss this trash. Schedule Ohio teams and you will be better off for it. I have seen some really good Womamma teams compete very well against Ohio teams and I think this will continue if you guys discontinue playing sub-par talent over the river. Meigs, Athens, Trimble, Belpre just to mention a few decent teams on this side of the river, will be great opponents for you guys and you will be a better team for playing a tough schedule. You should schedule all of these teams every year!

Where do I start?
The Ripley series was dropped because they stayed AAA and we moved down to AA. At the time, they did not want to play two AA's on their schedule.
The Gallia series was stopped at the time because their calander changed and we had a conference game on that date. We knew that game was going to be dropped years before it even happened. We're hoping it can be back on the schedule within the next few years.
Williamstown was a one year deal because we have two new schools coming into our conference this year that we have to play so we could not enter a two year deal with them.
We had to play Tug Valley because Winfield and Logan left the Cardinal in the last classification, leaving us scrambling for games that year, which explains all of our one year deals we've had the last two years. Those two schools were both borderline schools in classification and we could not go and openly schedule two more teams months before they officially moved to AAA without knowing for sure they were going to be there.
We can't help it when teams move up/down in conference. It messes with our scheduling. We don't want those one year deals where you get no JV game, split gate, no gate, and stuff like that.
The Allan thing, well, we both know the truth there I am sure so I am not going to go there.
I thought of the two schools playing in the scrimmage, you guys would want it more than us, but I guess I was wrong in that assumption. One year was enough I suppose. I just thought that as much as Wahama loves to play us in other sports I just thought a scrimmage would be great. Once again though, I was wrong.

At the end of the day, Point has won just as many playoff games on the last 20 years as Hannan.....WOW!

That's true and we have got to do that in order for us to take another step.

Re: 2010 - Wahama White Falcons
Gallia had a great run at the end of the series but it took that run to get them over the hump in the wins/losses column for the series. The Point/Gallia series is a great series and both teams control the series in runs.
Let me explain it for you some more.
The Ohio calender moved up that year which made the starting date different from West Virginia. The last year we played the game, it was a one year deal at Gallipolis and we got no junior varsity game from the deal either. It had to be a one year deal because of the calenders changing and Coach Safford did that to keep the series going for one more year instead of dropping it a year ahead of time.
Our conference does not play the conference games at the end of the year like most of SE Ohio does. I wish we did, I think it's great you guys do leagues like that, it's how they are supposed to be. But, over here, they are played whenever they can be played, and our game with Sissonville is that week and they are the most difficult school to deal with in terms of moving games. We wanted to sign a two year deal with a team from southern WV last year but could not do so because they refused to move the date of our game against them.
The different starting dates for seasons was always an issue for us while in the SEOAL and it's no different to this day.
I hope that explains it better for you.

Point/Gallia and Meigs/Gallia
Somebody in charge needs to get these two series started back up in 2011.

One thing is for sure when it comes to Ohio playing West Virginia teams in football. If the majority of the wins are by the Ohio school, the "difference in the calendar" excuse will undoubtedly be used to discontinue the series. I have seen it happen many times.

Re: 2010 - Wahama White Falcons
Like I said earlier, our series has went in runs historically with one team dominating the series for a stretch then the other team dominating for another stretch. It happens. Our series has been played around 70 times off the top of my head with Gallipolis only ahead by a few games. That shows how close our series has always been. I just told the story word for word, even telling you what our side did to keep the game going for one more year with no return date and no JV game. Sometimes things can not be helped, you know?
Re: 2010 - Wahama White Falcons
Isnt this thread about Wahama? Point Pleasant is a dead issue on this thread since they used the cut and run theory when they ran from the SEOAL.

Is that what happened at baseball?

No Wahama is in a different situation. They thump on teams like Southern, and South Gallia.

I personally see this as a trend at Trimble. Anytime they think they cant win, cancel the bus due to no money. Sort of a cut and run philosophy.....

Yes the Broker has done this for years in softball. No one cared when he was the JV coach. He would cancel the tough games, and count srimmages on his win total. Now he is doing the same with the varisty and it is starting to raise some eyebrows. If he could just figure out a way to cancel and not make up the tough league games he could go undefeated every year.

IDK, i could see Southern beating Wahama this year. Southern has over 50 kids signed up for football and lifting weight 6 days a week. Seems now that Wings Teaford is gone, things are really moving and shaking in Racine. Plus, we have had about 10 families move in to work the coal mines at yellowbush and some of those kids look big.
GOOD LUCK TO COACH KYLE!
DOWN GOES MEIGS!
