Logan Elm 14-4
Circleville 12-6

I'd say these are the top two seeds in the North followed by Unioto and Sheridan.

Records are always crutial come tournament draw. This sectional could really be interesting with the # 1 through 4 seeds. I know the top three have impressive records but have beat each other. So much should be considered with Conference as well. I would like to see the draw go back to seeding the teams and then make 1 & 2 go opposite, then everyone choose where they go on the bracket based on the seed they were awarded. This allows teams that play in a tough conference to and may have poor record to have a chance to play a better record team but a weaker conference.

Also, Why not put the north & south in ALL one sectional bracket & let teams play others that they may not have an opportunity and take 8 teams to district finals?

I know some teams in SEOAL may play each other for a 4th time in the fist game of a sectional, that is simply crazy.

Best of luck to All teams, could be interesting when quality wins are discussed?

are you all that close to ending your regular season play?? I know we have games thru at least the 8th and now at least 1 if not 2 make ups (1- is conference, 1- is not) as of today. Was just wondering where everyone else was in their season

Chillicothe now at 4-14. Probably likely that they will play Vinton Co. for the play-in game. If Chilly wins both tonight and tomorrow then they would come in a 6-14, but Jackson's wins are more impressive. Oh well, still has been a magical season for Chillicothe.

Warren beat Athens tonight 5-2 in a very good game. If you go by records and head to head the Lady Warriors have earned the right to be the number one seed in a very good sectional.

gahs4ever wrote:I am really excited about Gallia Academy's chances as the regular season winds down. At one point our team resembled a MASH hospital as two time All SEOAL SS Courtney Shriver was recovering from her second knee surgery in as many years. 2008 All SEOAL CF Hannah Cunningham missed the entire season last year with shoulder problems that later required surgery, and our All-Sparkplug (lol) MVP (most versatile player) Kari Campbell was just released to play this past week after missing all of last year and most of this.

Changing a few people around, getting these three young ladies back, and installing Claudia Farney at 3B have made a remarkable difference defensively and the result has been a 6-1 record our last 7 games (lone loss 2-0 to Athens). We have given up 0, 0, 0, 2, 5, 2, and 0 runs in that span with 3 mercy rule decisions; outscoring our opposition 55-9 in the process.

Hopefully this momentum will carry over and be a precursor to an SEOAL Championship and a long tournament run.

GO BLUE ANGELS!

An SEOAL championship for sure but the MSL and MVL will thwart any chances of going past the district level for sure for any of the southern teams. JMHO

Is there a schedule of all these sectional games out yet, I mean when and where they are to be played?

Logan Elm 14-5
Circleville 13-7

As for the district finals, I'll go with Circleville, Logan Elm, Unioto and a team out of the south sectional.

gahs, you could very well be right. Upsets do happen, especially in the game of softball.

I'd also say Circleville and Logan Elm are also better than last year, and from what I've heard Unioto is playing much better than earlier this season with a young and promising team. I'd say those three teams and Sheridan are probably the strongest of the north on paper.

What do you think of the south?

gahs, thanks for the breakdown. I'm a little more familiar with Warren as they and Circleville have tangoed a few times over the past five seasons in the tournament. Last year's margin of win for Circleville kind of surprised me, but these are two different teams this year. Should be interesting to see if Warren, Gallipolis, Athens and Waverly can make it to Unioto or if there is an upset along the way.

It seems Chillicothe has started to come up the ladder fortunately for its program. I've watched them a few times over the last few years and you hate to see kids have to go through those type of seasons. Good story.

Should be interesting seeing who gets what seed.

I'll guess this will be how it goes

#1 Warren
#2 Gallipolis
#3 Athens
#4 Waverly
#5 Meigs
#6 Marietta
#7 Jackson
#8 Chillicothe
#9 Vinton Co
