Outstanding game. Warriors would not quit. Thought GAHS came back strong in top of 7th with three runs to take a 5-4 lead after Coach Richie Corwin was ejected in the bottom of the sixth for protesting the umpires change of a call with GAHS dowm 4-2 at the time.
Turning point. GAHS scored three runs in the top of the seventh and had the bases loaded with one out when Tyler Proctor, junior reliever, came on to fan next two Blue Devils.
Then in the bottom of the seventh, the never say die Warriors got two or three hits, then scored the tying and winning runs on two passed balls for the 6-5 victory.
An amazing win for Warren. A heartbreaking defeat for GAHS.
Warren improved to 18-3 on the year and remained unbeaten in SEOAL play with a 9-0 mark.
The Warriors have a makeup game remaining with Marietta in North Division play on May 11.
Gallipolis dropped to 13-7 overall and 7-3 in SEOAL action, and finished second in league play.
John Troester was charged with the loss. He went six innings giving up one earned run and eight hits. Troester walked one and fanned two.
Chuck Calvert came on with the seventh with no outs to relieve Troester and before the smike cleared, the Warriors came back with the triumph.
J. D. Heath started for Warren. He went six and 1/3 innings and gave up five runs, 10 hits, three walks and nine strikeouts. Ty Proctor, also a junior, hurled two-thirds of an inning, fanned two and was was creited with the victory.
Top GAHS hitters were Casey Denbow, who had two hits, including a shot over the left field "monster wall" for a home run, two safeties by Jimmy (Jimbo) Clagg, two by Kyle Dingess (who also had two walks) and single safeties by Ben Saunders, Brandon Taylor, and Tyler Eastman.
Proctor, Kern, Heath, and Knost led the Warriors at the plate.
GAHS will travel to Eastern for a non-league outing Thursday and host Huntington Ross at the University of Rio Grande on Friday in another non-league contest.
Score by innings:
Gallipolis....100 100 3 -- 5-10-4
Warren ......010 201 2 -- 6-8-1
WP--Proctor.
LP--Troster.

Never in my life did I ever see a call changed 3 times. But Galiia had theirchance to win and could not put it away.
Re: WARREN WARRIORS SEOAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
JOTTINGS......In the bottom of the 7th Tyler Proctor got a single, and Zack Heath hit the double to score Proctor from first. Proctor was running on the pitch. Then a pass ball on the first pitch moved Heath to third. The second pitch and pass ball scored Heath, game over. This game was changing every half inning, momentum and scoring. Things were happening fast. Gallias' team responded super with the ejection of their coach. They got fired up and momentum switched sides. Heath and Proctor are our team leaders and they like the pressure situations, and they responded the way they like to with actions.
