This game should have been 5-1. Home plate ump called a balk on our pitcher when there was a supposed balk towards the runner at third when their was a third base umpire there working that base and should have made the call. Other than that blue did a good job. Nice job pirates.

A very good game. Both teams played very well. Piketon led 2-1, Wheelersburg tied it in the 3rd, took a one run lead in the 4th. a run in the 5th and one in the 6th seemed to put it away. Farmer struck out 6 and walked 8 , giving up 3 hits in 5 innings. Blackburn went 1 inning, allowing 1 hit striking out 1. Elliott went all 7, giving up 3 hits, striking out 10 and walking 1. All three pitchers threw well. A fun game to watch if you didn't care who won.

Piketon is certainly no push over like some may have indicated. They are only going to get better- seem to be a young team with good pitching and executed the bunt well. Nice squeeze at home- it was the right call by blue-

Burg 1,

I was sitting in the stands watching the game too. The balk on your pitcher should have been called by the plate umpire or the 3B umpire. The pitcher stepped to home plate and threw to 3rd base. It was an obvious balk all the umpires observed, it's just the plate man made more noise about it.

Burg played very well, and so did Piketon. Their starting pitcher for Piketon will be a beast for the next three years, all he needs are some innings in the summer. They seemed like a young team.

Burg played great defense, and pitched well IMO. That's why they have the record they have.

Sorry, certainly didnt see it that way setting on the third base fence-you may be right though- you are right about Piketon's pitching-

My hat off to the Burg. They are a great team and well coached. That coaching staff is amazing. Is the requirement to coach baseball having to played college baseball?:) Good luck the rest of the way in the tourney. I am very proud of the Piketon baseball players. They went toe to toe with Burg and have nothing to hang their head about.

Good season Piketon, you have shown you can play with the best now keep up the work and continue this seasons successes. Congrats to Wheelersburg, very good ball club and well coached. Sorry couldnt make the game, family matters kept me away. Piketon is young, but no excuses from this fan. Attitude and hard work pay off more than anything in high school sports. Keep working hard at everything you do young men, and good things will follow. Lets Go Streaks! Good luck Burg.

Yes, the bulk call against Wheelersburg was the right call. Andrew just stepped towards home plate on that one.

Hats off to Piketon. They battled and came to play. Farmer is going to be the real deal for sure. Also, he looks like he can swing the bat. Blackburn came in and did a good job at the end for Piketon too. Well coached team, nice calls early in the game that helped to put Piketon up 2-0.

Pirates battled as well and found a way. That's what matters at this point. Go Burg!
